What I would like to know is where are all the ammo cans going? They’re not being hidden in the woods under a pile of sticks the way they were intended…
HUMMMMM? I think other hand-loaders like myself are scarfing them up. Thanks to “the administration” prices are sky rocketing and us handloaders need a place to stockpile our goods. 😀
Not to sidetrack this tread, and just stating facts. The “administation ” hasn’t done anything yet. Ammo companies are running 24/7, yet there is no or very limited supplies on store shelves. WHY???? 😯
I talked with a couple of reliable sources (one who’s the manager for a local major sporting goods store) and this buying pattern is typical of a Democrat being elected following a 8 year Republican. “The administration” has also been very public about it’s plans for firearms and ammunition. My sources tell me that they can’t keep anything on the shelves because are worried that if they don’t get while the getting is good, they won’t get anything.
Even from a reloaders perspective it’s getting expensive and primers are few / far between. When you can find them they’re expensive and very limited in quantity. The increased price in manufactured ammunition has created a surge in handloaders like myself because of the cost savings and the ability to be more independent of “the administration”.
02/11/2010 at 6:13 pm #1921916The month before deer season, I stopped in at the local gun dealer here in town and was surpised how little ammo stock he had. His comment was that he had access to 5 diffrent warehouses in the nation and they were all empty and that the ammo companies were going 24/7 and have been for a few years.

I’ll just comment that as frustrating as it’s been to get supplies, I love the fact that the administrator has been able to spur the economy in this sector. 😈 😈 😈 😈
02/11/2010 at 6:20 pm #1921918BTW – All the Fleet Farms stores in the Fox Valley have lots of ammo cans available for around $7 each. I was in the Appleton and Oshkosh stores within the last 2 weeks and there were plenty available.
02/11/2010 at 6:29 pm #1921919We’re all supposed to be putting out clear plastic containers for caches anyway. 🙄
