Joker 53150 found Match Head (Traditional Cache) at 8/28/2010
Log Date: 8/28/2010
I’m debating how to go about logging this one. On one hand I want to stab you in the ear with an icepick while on the other hand I want to shake your hand for one of the best placed and most difficult caches I have been involved with.
This is the second trip Max Powers and I have taken with my boy to try and get this cache. We read all the logs, got a hint/tip or two, and figured today was the day. The bugs were pretty annoying the whole trip to the end of the rocks, where the wind picked up and kept ’em away so we could get to work.
In and out we went, same as the first trip. Based on previous information we knew we were going to have to search harder this time so I was prepared with gloves, a long sleeve shirt, and knee pads (and I’m EXTREMELY glad I brought them!). I’m 6′ 3″ and 240 pounds, so I’m somewhat limited in where I can go (with any hope of return, at least) so I sent in the 9 year old boy. When he said he found it I thought he was kidding. A few seconds later, there it was! Everything is in great shape – picked up a travel coin and left 3 travel bugs. Max Powers picked up one of them right away so there are 2 new ones.
Well played!
