Well, we’ve had our share of encounters with law enforcement officers, but today’s takes the cake.
We were coming down off a mountain to our parked cars along an icy road on the backside of Perrot State Park, and saw the flashing lights behind our row of parked geomobiles. Not good, we thought.
Turns out we were indeed legally parked, but since that road is constantly shaded and completely iced over, the locals were concerned our cars would get smashed by someone spinning out, so he was parked there to alert oncomers. We chatted with the deputy for awhile, who, get this, led us back out to Main Street in Trempealeau….a police escort, complete with flashing lights!
Sorry, I just can’t resist.. 🙄
Maybe he just wanted to get you folks out of his county? You know how it goes, reputation proceeds you kind of thing?? 😆
That’s nice, not often getting an escort like that!
Ya, I agree …. probably sighed with relief once you kooks left! 😯
That’s what ya get for hootin’ and hollerin’ up in the hillsides. Should have known Trekkin’ was the instigator!
Congrats on the fun caches, the recognition and the celebrity escort!
We had the same thing happen out in Lake Minnetonka a month ago when a group of 15 went night caching in one of the larger parks. The police were waiting patiently for us to emerge from the woods. What they didn’t realize was that a couple of the cachers with us were police officers, as well.
They obviously had run all of our plates, and no one was hauled away in cuffs. We took some fun pics with the police officers, and then they told us where the final was for a couple puzzle caches nearby. They know more than they let on…..
