Max Powers found Match Head (Traditional Cache) at 8/28/2010
Log Date: 8/28/2010
I recently saw an episode of “Dirty Jobs” where Mike Rowe was exploring new caves & got his pants caught on a rock in an extremely tight space. He eventually managed to get himself unstuck & scampered off to do other stuff. After seeing that episode, I swore to myself that I would never put myself in that situation.
*sigh*
Then came Match Head.
It took 2 attempts, a clue & a 9 year old kid to finally find the thing (entirely thanks to the 9 year old). Once we zeroed in on the cache, he managed to grab it with next to no trouble at all.
After struggling to find the cache for a while, I knew I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I didn’t try to get to ground zero myself, & I refused to be shown up by a 9 year old kid, so he put it back & I went in after it.
Really? Who in their right mind puts a cache in a place like this?!?! Really? I immediately questioned what the heck I was going. I repeated “don’t get stuck…don’t get stuck” over & over. I can definitely say that I made it in & out without getting stuck, but I won’t mention if it was with/without soiled drawers. That was hands down the tightest space I have ever, or probably will ever, get myself into.
This will, without a doubt in my mind, go down as my favorite cache. I’m almost speachless at how much fun I had trying to find it. The only thing I can say about it is:
