Was actually logged today, but was found back on the 20th

GC26C7V Oconto County – High Point

[Found it] August 20 by kmsnoop (1801 found)

OMG !!! Sweetlife – You are EVIL!!!! (just kidding of course)

WOW – That was some hike. I got to the parking coords and did my goto. The result – 2.19 miles to GZ. OK – I knew there was a trail to the fire tower. How bad can it be?? A little bushwacking from the top by the tower and I’ll be at GZ in no time.

WRONG – When I got to the firetower I ran out of trail. Problem was my GPS unit still read 1.72 miles to GZ. Well I already came this far. No turning back now. Yes – I bushwacked 1.72 miles to the final!!! This one is out in BF Egypt!!!

But how rewarding to make the find. My longest cache prior to this date was 1.65 miles but that cache was down an atv trail. With this cache, I buswacked with no trail LONGER than any previous cache I had ever done PLUS another half mile on a trail to boot!!! When I got back I was tired and so hungry I could eat a whole cow!!! I was hoping I didn’t pass any cows in the fields as I was tempted to pull over and start gnawing on a cow right where it stood. I did have plenty of fluids along on the hike. I took a 20 ounce Diet Pepsi and my full water bottle that holds about 24 ounces. It was also a cooler day with temps only about 70 degrees and cloud cover ao I wasn’t over heating. The perfect day to do a cache like this.

Luckily the wife was hungry too so we went out for a well deserved Friday fish fry. Then it started to rain from supper time on and though the night.

I did cross some logging trails on the way, but without a map, I figured I might as well just follow the needle.

Great cache well worthy of the terrain rating. Not one the “numbers” cachers will ever see. Thanks for putting out this super challenging cache!!!

TNLN – SL (after a VERY LONG hike) – TFTC!!!!

Wow, this looks like our type of cache (well, at least mine)!

This is not our normal hide, This one is definitely one to save for a milestone but don’t wait till winter.

Rather than start a new thread, here’s my log of the day from cache GCWZ1J – Bridge Over Troubled Waters, which is a night cache in Marinette, WI.

    Log Date: 8/25/2010
Well, while enjoying a nature hike today with my Husband, Son and our Bulldog, our Son Brandon (9) stumbled upon this box. We knew we found a treasure, just wasn’t sure what it was. Upon opening the box we noticed the note and several toys. It then clicked that I knew what this was, but have only heard of it. A friend of mine’s Daughter was telling her about and and she spread the word to me. When I looked at the enclosed signed list of ppl who have seen this box I noticed her name signed there! Its also cool that we found it on our wedding anniversary! We have spent alot of time traveling those trails and never realized what was hidden there. Inside was the instructions for the cache, a pen, notebook, some dinosaur figurines, a casino card, a WIXX sticker, and a few other toys. We left behind a deck of cards, a goosebumps card and an extra pen. We had no high tech gps device and it was found in the middle of the day, but it was a cool find and will have to check for more places now!
