Sidnaw has a whole string of caches in the Poynette area, mostly multis and mysteries, and all with Fish in the name. I’ve intended to try them for a while, but never got around to it. Any takers? I haven’t got a date in mind, but if there’s interest maybe we can nail down a date in February.
01/11/2006 at 4:55 pm #1750567Or perhaps the last Sunday this month?
01/11/2006 at 5:52 pm #1750568Hmmmmmmmmm gotta look at my schedule. Got a full couple months ahead, but lemme see
01/11/2006 at 8:06 pm #1750569Is this place just North of Madison? Want to make sure I’m looking in the right place.
01/11/2006 at 8:30 pm #1750570Yep, just south of Portage off of 90-94. Lots of public land along the streams.

I would go if the day works out.
I remember our first event was the WGA picnic in that area. Natloh showed us one of the waypoints for one of those fish caches. It was in a stump (not too much of a spoiler I hope LOL).

Wisconsin Coulee Region Cachers01/13/2006 at 5:00 am #1750573We’d be game for this, depending on the day. One point of concern: looking at the logs for the “One fish, two fish…” cache series look like they are badly in need of maintenance, and the second one is currently inactive. Anyone know if the cache owner is planning on maintaining the caches any time soon?
01/13/2006 at 5:48 am #1750574All but the last were found this fall, well after they went offline. I’ll risk it. Also, there are the Fish Dinner caches in mind as well. I think I’m looking at a date of January 29th for this foray. It’s a dense little area, and I like the odds of a good group.

Wife thinks I’m nuts thinking about staying in a hotel for a breakfast event. She might be right but that’s beside the point.
This being in the GENERAL area as well but the next day.
Anyhow, all this to say I would like to come but chances look very slim.

01/16/2006 at 9:22 pm #1750577That’s Q.E.D. Marc. Or you’re free to meet me in Stevens Point and you can just ride with me the whole way. Six of one, half a dozen…
I will say that we should be prepared for some DNFs, what with reports of damaged containers, etc., although assembling a good group should minimize the hassles. Overall I’m optimistic, and Don Quixote I’m not!
If I get some solid yesses I’ll get a GSAK file together and pick a start point for our merry band.
01/23/2006 at 3:31 pm #1750578Well, the PQ has been run, and most of the caches, besides the mysteries have been found very recently for the squeemish. Even the mysteries, including the one listed as down for maintenance, were found in late October. Marc_54140 and I will be there regardless, but it’d be nice to see some new faces in the parking lot.
01/23/2006 at 7:30 pm #1750579Assuming the date is 1/29, has anyone specified the time and meeting place?
01/23/2006 at 7:44 pm #17505801/29 indeed. I’ll hammer out final details tonight. Probably 8:30-9:00 and need to pick an efficient start point. Stay tuned.
