I was just wondering if anyone else had any reception problems today. I was on my way home from up north, and got very strange readings. I kept losing sats. and when I did get them, I was over 600 miles off. This happened from 1:30pm to about 3pm. After that everything went back to normal.

I was out around the same time yesterday. From the satellite view, there were only 9 in sight and three of those were right on the horizon, so they were useless. By 4:00, there were 11 and I was holding a much better signal.

It still beats the time I tried to get a cache in before work. Drove out to the site and couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t get a signal, even in open air. There were only 6 birds showing up, and three of those were on the horizon, so I was getting nothing. Headed back to the car and left.

Were you in the Kettle Morrain area by Long Lake by chance; between Fond du lac, Sheboygan and West Bend? Team Rusch might be able to give you some further insight.

I started out north of Iron Mountain, and finally got a good signal just north of Green Bay. My sat menu showed 5 straight above me, and still would only hold for about 5 seconds. It would put me on the map nowhere near where I was. It has worked flawlessly since, thats what prompt my question.

Not this week but in the last two weeks I have had two or three loss of satellite messages while pretty much out in the open. This was on a Garmin V which I attributed to the latest software release having some problems, such as slow recalculation for offroutes. I had a couple occasions where my position would suddenly change by a few hundred miles but that was several software revisions ago.
