Didn’t try the kick in the shin, but I’m sure it’s just as effective as ripping electrode patches off my chest.
03/30/2009 at 2:05 am #1904106I am sorry to hear about your sciatic nerve. I have been battling my sciatic nerve for over a month now, almost two!. I had problems once before about a year ago but it only lasted about 4 days and went away. I was hoping that would be the case again but so far no luck. I have good days but mostly bad days. Funny thing is… walking seems to help but I can only walk so much. Hope you get better and me too.
03/30/2009 at 1:38 pm #1904107Thanks! I agree. Walking definatly helps. I’m not too bad at home, but sitting at work in front of a desk all day is just killing me. I already have a dr’s appointment scheduled for Thursday about everything else that’s gonig on… maybe he will have some suggestions… or different drugs. I hate taking these pain killers, but I need something to get me throught the 8 hours at work.
03/30/2009 at 2:48 pm #1904108i had sciatica years ago, and just thought trying accupressure might help.
the treatment felt good, but the next two days were the worst following treatment. i thought i was going to fall through my own a%%^*#e.
on the third morning, everything was fine…….no more problems.
remember, accupressure, not puncture.

04/01/2009 at 3:48 am #1904110Quit being a martyr and call the Chiropractor. This is what we do best. Have the chiro adjust your hip, too. It will clear it out pretty fast.
The fact that something “shifted” in your back/pelvis and the pain started to decrease should be a big indicator that something is “out of place” and causing the region to spasm, swell and irritate the nerve sheaths.
Again, the longer you put this off, the longer and harder it is to resolve.
Call the Chiropractor. Ohhh, that’s what I do for a living on people and animals. Gosh, it really seems to work!
🙂
Doc.
04/01/2009 at 1:15 pm #1904111I’m really tempted! I need to check with my insurance first though. This is really beginning to be a pain in the butt! 😛 Pun intended.
04/01/2009 at 1:50 pm #1904112I was going to a chiro about 3 years ago for my back twice a week to start. I left his office in more pain than when I went in. After a couple of hours I felt better than before I went in. After a few weeks, I was down to once to twice a week. About two months later, he said I can come in once a week. I was starting to feel great again. Then the insurance cut me off. Today I’m right back where I started from. I can’t afford out of pocket.
He and other docs told me that I can use over the counter pain killers if I need to. Only problem with that is, if they work good and take the pain away, I feel great and then I end up over doing it with the back. Then I’m in terrible pain for a few more days. At least some pain tells me not to over do things.
I never had a sciatica problem, nor do I want one. I’m sure things are a lot different than what I go through. All I can say is, make sure you cover your bases with the insurance company. While chiropractors are more accepted in the medical field today than in the past, they are still looked at as quacks (no disrespect intended) by some in the field. And from what I have heard from others, not all insurance covers chiro care.
04/01/2009 at 2:31 pm #1904113They can’t be any more of a quack then the neurologist who told me I had migrains before even looking at tests I had done and wrote me 7 prescriptions for anti-seziure meds before even asking what meds I was already taking. Needless to say, I didn’t get the scrips filled and I didn’t go back to the quack. Good thing too! I don’t have migrains… I have an aneurism.
04/01/2009 at 5:41 pm #1904114Sorry to hear that.
So many doctors don’t think twice about taking drug company kickbacks. It’s obvious that the ones who do, don’t have their patient’s best interest at hand. Not to mention a leading reason why prescription drugs cost so much.
I really hope things work out for you.
04/02/2009 at 7:34 pm #1904115The best you can do is call the insurance co., then call your trusted friends and see who they recommend. Then call that chiro and find out what procedures they perform and charges. Then ask what the charges are for un-insured. You might be surprised at the affordibility. Don’t sign up for a “package of care.” Those are a business rip-off, and are intended to be.
Otherwise call me when you come to this neck of the woods. I hear we have quite a few caches out this way! 🙂
04/02/2009 at 7:48 pm #1904116Hmmm… might have to take you up on that. I have an appointment with my regular doc today after work. Maybe he can recommend someone.
05/01/2009 at 7:02 pm #1904117The slight relief was short lived. Pain was back in full force after just a day or two. After some tests were done, it shows I have a ruptured disk and tons of arthirtis. I still hope to avoid another surgery though. Three is less than a year is more than enough for me. Keep your fingers crossed.
