Here’s mine …and absolutely true: My son and I decided a cemetery hunt would be fitting yesterday for Halloween. As we reached the 4ft. mark on our gps, I began hunting. Just as I pulled the mini-cache from a tree, Ryan said, in a hushed voice, “Mom …… look at this.” We were right at a gravestone marked with my last name …. no other markings, no dates, no nothing. We both got a little eeriely freaked out – a strange coincidence make even stranger by the day. And it’s not like my last name is Smith or Johnson, it’s ….. well, take a look at the photo. The tree with the cache is less than 3 ft. directly to the left side of the picture. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=c181d774-909b-4bb4-b71b-42a67d5df939

Funny you should bring this up…after doing bandits “Eyes” nightcache last night after a fun day caching the Point, as we were heading home, Trekkin’ mentioned that he hasn’t seen our ghost in some time now. I knew I’d done a blog post about her the last time he saw her, so I checked my blog to see when it was….three years ago on Halloween.

If you want to read the story, here’s a link:

We’re wondering one of two things about her long absence.

      1) Our younger son would see her watching over him in his bedroom, and he has grown up and moved out recently.

      2) Maybe whatever has kept her spirit restless has been brought to a conclusion.

I have never had the opportunity to see her, nor has our older son. I am no skeptic, so I guess I just haven’t been as lucky as the other two members of our family.

Irish women take these things seriously! 😉

Ah, yes! Thanks for sharing your wonderful blog entry! I have Murphy blood as well, my namesake, my grandmother and also live in an old home – 1918, along the Apple River. Have been trying to get old pictures and information from neighbors – but no gravestones or, alas, ghosts to watch over us – yet!
PS. I love your Trekkin’ and Birdin’ graphic!
