I read a log from a newbie not too long ago on a cache I had done previously. He had taken the log book home to read through it and would return it in “a week or two” .
We cached in the Appleton area over the Christmas break. There was one that was suppose to be very easy and obvious but we just could not find it. A week later we returned to the area to meet up with some friends from the Quad Cities. We just happened to get their relatives into Geocaching the year before. The relatives met with us too… and when we asked if they had done this “easy” one they started laughing and told us how they accidently left it in their vehicle and discovered it a few days later. They returned it as soon as they discovered that they had it. Well that was during the few days we were looking for it. We ran out to Lake Winnebago at midnight just to sign that log. What are the chances that you end up spending the evening with the team that took and replaced it?
