Congratulations on completing the quest! I’m just shooting for being done by 7/6. My last two vehicle choices sucked. If anyone has any hot tips on finding fast forwards, I’m all ears. My strategy the first time was not good and I wasted WAY too much of my life trying to find it!

TAB is your frend to find “Thespot”. When it comes to finding the piuc all I did was take one of the coords provided by the Quest and work my way out from there…Good luck.

The tab key? I did find my spots the last time, and used pretty much the same strategy to try and find the picture. Clearly, it didn’t work for me that time!

Luck and timing play a big part too. Here is the story of our FF for 13th chase. Get our “puzzle”, search for 2.5hrs find it and it has already been solved. The next two spots give security notices. Sign out completely and back in to search for a new photo. This time search for 3 hrs, again to find someone had beat us. Really frustrated but back for a 3rd photo and this time we finally got it first. That last search helped us with the final though. We were searching out from a outlaw location with the page back to move through the caches. Never used tab will have to try that sometime.

Since I have a slow dial-up at home (3 KB/sec), I went to my husband’s office on a weekend when nobody was there. They have a T-1 so those pix would load up quick! I downloaded Google Earth so I could quickly scan all the caches. Finding the “spot” by slowly sweeping across the picture was no problem, and I started looking at caches around Moab then worked outwards towards places the outlaws were hiding.

My picture was of a jeep climbing a hill. I started to see pictures of that same jeep at other caches, so I went to the profile of the cacher that owned the jeep and started clicking on caches he had done in Utah. Found it on the fifth one.

So that’s how the first FF worked for me. I don’t know if that helps anyone, but that is my story. I have my second FF coming up soon. We’ll see how that goes.

You can use the TAB key to skip to elements on a web page. The FF is an element. When you TAB around the page eventually the “SWEET SPOT” will highlight.

    Cool.

Hey! pharmteam is currently #5 on the finishers list. Way to go guys!

well, i had no trouble finding the spot. but looking for those pictures was just a waste of time. i think i spent 2 hours last nite looking at the caches near the outlaws. my neck was sore, my eyes were sore, my hand was sore, and my eyes were sore. but if i could have found it i could have logged it. it was still up when i went to capture the outlaw. my last vehicles were right on. makes up for the 2 that made me wait over 8 hours.
i have all my caches. i’ll be done logging them by the end of the week. is there anything helpful you can tell me for the final? i don’t have any topo maps of my own. do i need them? did anyone ever solve those petroglyphs? or is that key given in the last couple of map pieces? do i need to solve them?

The final square on the map is the key to decrypting the 10 coded items from the case files…any GC cache page has a link to topo maps. Generally just search for what you decrypt. Google can albe helpful in narrowing down the hideout.

Man, I was doing so well with my vehicle choices early on, but I’m now chasing my 12th, and my last three choices have been clunkers!

What’s ironic is that I briefly considered the right vehicle choice. Oh well.
At this point, I just want to finish and solve the puzzle. I hope to nab the Peanut Gang by finding a cache when I head to Rochester for a storytelling gig this afternoon. I’ll only need two more after that, one we’ll get this weekend.

The other is Terminator Sam and I’m really hoping the location requirement will work or I’m doomed!

Congrats to all of you who’ve finished already, especially pharmteam! Wow!

woo hoo. i just finished in 139th place! i solved all the petroglyphs, guess i shouldn’t have wasted any time earlier trying to find the key words. i got lucky when i picked a cache to look at in topozone. found a spot that matched someting on the map, and found the place name they were looking for. and all this was done at work tonite. between jobs. yeah right, boss.
now i can go back to taking it easy. the game was fun and frustrating too. i didn’t like the fast forwards. i didn’t have any trouble finding the spots, but i hit the first one on a sunday when the gc servers are notoriously slow anyway. and for the life of me, i just couldn’t match those pictures. but other than that, i thought this game was great. well except for the fact that i had no clue which cars to pick. i hit two correct and two way off. the rest were close, three or four hour penalties. i’m glad i’m done. i’m ordering my coin when i get home tonite.

Congratulations! I’ll be up for my next chance at a FF after I put this outlaw in jail. Already made the find, just have to decide when I’ll have that kind of time, and hope I’m luckier this time!

Looks like I’ll be bringing up the rear for the WI Posse, but it’s been fun. My first coinquest.

Hey, I’m not dead yet!! I’ll be rolling up just before the deadline.

Me too – I’ve still got 4 more outlaws to round up. Life has just been getting in the way of fun this week! 😀

I did already manage to find where the treasure map is – so I’m all set when I put the last one away.

LightningBugsMum, you are still ahead of me on that one. At least I picked the right vehicle this time, but now…..I can’t seem to get on the site to look for my FF spot! I try to go there, and the home page is all messed up, and trying to work around the links just gets me error messages.

I am taking this as a sign. We decided not to go after any caches today because of the weather forecast, so I figured it would be a good time to look. It is not to be, I guess!
