Oops. Looks like I just knocked Furby out of the playoffs. Who are my next three victims?
12/01/2008 at 9:36 pm #1890692you and Furball were the two I am most concerned about. One down…. Zuma will be a pushover.

I thought that as a condition of our last trade, you were going to rest your starters for me. I’ll remember that come next year.
Lucky for you that you knocked me out this week, because you would have been toast with Peyton going against the Lions next week.12/02/2008 at 4:50 pm #1890694@furfool wrote:

A condition? I never agreed to any condition. I offered the trade and you accepted. You added that condition after the fact. Let’s see what you wrote.
“I’ll accept your trade. You aren’t taking any risk either. Ronnie is going to rack up the points for you this week. You got what you wanted now give me what I want. Seeing as you will end up with a bye come playoff time, I want you to sit your big producers when we meet later in the season.”
Rack up points for me? Aren’t taking any risk? You will end up with a bye? Brown got 7 against Seattle, while Turner got 10. I tied Table 4 6 that week. Brown had 39 yards. 1 more yard and I would have won Week 10 and would have gotten a bye. Seeing that I was still competing for a bye this week, I didn’t feel obligated to honor a condition that I never agreed to in the first place.
You must not have looked at my bench. They scored plenty. There was only one combination I could have come up with where you would have won. Don’t blame me, blame Manning. 125 yards and 0 TD’s against Cleveland? Indy is lucky they won the game.
Those trades made you a contender. The Turner trade cost me a bye, but I’m hoping it works out in the playoffs. And I would have been better off with Manning vs. Romo because of the Romo injury and Manning has a great playoff schedule. I wasn’t looking at the playoffs back then. No regrets. I’m still having fun. Now I need to remove a few legs from a Table this week and then Zoink the hell out of a rookie manager next week. If all goes well, maybe I can prove Mouthy right and crush him in the finals. π
So Furry, in this time of Thanksgiving, be thankful for what you had and that you even got this close. π
12/02/2008 at 11:18 pm #1890695Why do you have to be so thorough? π³ Yes, you are absolutely right. That condition was after the fact, and your trade offers did help me. I am looking forward to next season though. Especially now that I know what’s going on. Besides, I need to avenge my losses to you. π
12/03/2008 at 8:04 pm #1890696Mathman, buddy, ya just made a huge mistake. Adding B. Jackson to your team just compounds the problem of your team’s fortunes being closely linked with the falling fortunes of our beloved Packers.
Ted Thompson has made enough mistakes in the past year for a decade of Dan Devine level folly. Please dont copy him, as you will make JC’s ultimate victory way too easy.

I added Brandon Jackson?????? I meant to add Kuhn! Hmmmm … maybe I can find for him too.
I am finally going to be able to enjoy watching a game this week w/o worrying about my players scoring points. You better enjoy it too ZUMA because next week you will be running into a Buzzsaw and you are cut down and taken from Super Bowl contention.

Well, I have to like my chances in week 15, whether I end up playing JC or Table 4 6. (Looks like Table 4 6 isnt paying attention though. He still has Rudi Johnson starting at RB when either Portis or White on his bench would be a much better choice.)
Anyway, here is why I think I can eke out a victory in week 15:
1. Westbrook will be healthy finally (I hope), and playing against Cleveland who cant stop anybody.
2. JC’s Romo will be playing the Giants, and the Giants stop everybody, even Romo.
3. I added the Indy kicker who is playing against Detroit in week 15, so I am expecting good things from the K position. Detroit has totally packed their bags, just waiting for the clock to run out on the season.
4. JC’s best RB, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was banged up in the Bears game and limping. Maybe he wont do so well after all. Maybe he will heal? Also the suspension of the Williamsons on MN D will mean more scores for MN’s opponent, and thus more passing and less running. (I hope.) Anyway, Peterson may not do as well as he has. (That may be wishful thinking, I know, based mostly for my lingering dislike of everything purple with horns.)
5. Duece’s suspension in NO, means that the PT Cruiser who I own at RB will be NO’s only decent RB and will see the ball a lot, so I got a pretty good guy in for my 3rd RB. I have had the PT Cruiser riding my bench for all these weeks, just for when the suspension came out, and that has worked out as I had hoped it would.
Anyway, those are the 5 reasons that I figure that I have at ;east a reasonable chance in week 15, even though I know that JC’s team is statistically about 10-12 points better than my team.
Anyway, that is why I remain hopeful of winning in week 15. My money is on ED beating HC this week (mostly because ED he has a great QB and 3 first rate RBs) and then beating you in week 15.
My only real concern if that all plays out as I expect, is regretting trading Brees and Thomas Jones to ED early in the season. That decision could very well bite me in the butt in week 16. If it doesnt bite me in the butt, it may be too much for JC as well, if he wins in week 15.
But the great thing about football, is that anything can happen. That is the result of the ball having a funny shape, making random bounces and random luck a huge factor. So anyone could win.
Current Vegas Odds on winning the WGA FF, obtained from VG’s favorite sports book:
Table 4 6 20:1
Mathman 15:1
Hayward Cheesehead 10:1
Zuma 5:1
Johhny Cache 4:1
ElfDoctors 3:1zuma

Well my bookie has these odds:
Johnny Cache 3:1
Elf Doctors 4:1
Mathman 6:1
Cheesestick 10:1
Table 4 6 15:1
ZUMA 23:1I questioned him and he said that it is correct. The odds against ZUMA winning could still go higher as the “buy side” of the bet is still heavily weighed against Zuma. We could see odds reach 35:1 by the weekend.
12/04/2008 at 4:21 pm #1890702Well, since my season is all but over, if anyone that’s making the playoffs, or trying to make the playoffs is interested in any of my players, PM me for a trade.

Ummmmmmm…….NOPE!
All trades had to be done by Nov. 28th
All teams not in the play off have been locked from dropping players also.
Sorry.

ZUMA 23:1With these odds, lets end it early and have me and Elfy play for the championship this week? That would save the poor commish from having to do any more work this year. π

No way. Look at the matchup and I bet it’ll be 2-3 points and I’m not sure in who’s favor. Now quit jinxing me by putting the cart before the horse. I’m expecting to fold up the card Table, but who knows. Maybe the Table will come crashing down on me. π―
