Since Uncle Fun has been so kind as to schedule the Erin Go Pizza Meet and Greet, I thought it would be fun to schedule a group cache hunt in the area the same day. I know several people will be traveling to the area, so this will give them a second reason to visit.

    The details
Starting time: 11 AM (A little late so people traveling have time to get here)

General area: New Berlin / Brookfield

    Starting location: N 43° 00.626 W 88° 05.442

Starting cache: Bible Accuracy GC107JY – this is a “driving” multi with a biblical theme (we will provide a travel bible!). Only one team has found this so far, so it makes a perfect starter (Sorry, Puzzler and Burrgirl!)

Planned route: Below is a list of caches we could visit as we work our way toward the pizza. As people let me know they will attend, this list will be altered to eliminate caches already found by members of the group. (Send me a My Finds PQ if possible, please! If not, just tell me the ones you have already found.)
    Bible Accuracy GC107JY
    There’s a lion in my Dew GCGJ7H
    Lion of Biblical Proportion GC1084V
    Wisconsin Travel Bug University GCZY1F
    Secluded Sanctuary GCZYYP
Another walk in the park_17 GC105RE
Outstanding In Your Field GCE8E9 (If this stays on the list, I’ll be looking for a volunteer photographer)
Sea Equals Two Pie Are GCG6JA
    View of the I GC10160
Another walk in the Park_20 GC10B11
Another walk in the Park_15 GCZWTY
    35th Commemorative Birthday Cache GCD9E9

Obviously we can keep going if we finish early. My plan is to load my GPS only with caches not found by the group. Again, let me know you are coming so that I can alter the list. I will send you a GPX of the surrounding area caches upon request. If you REALLY want to hunt an area cache not on the list, I’m sure we can work that out somehow. If we get a big number (more than 10 teams) of people coming, we might split this up into two groups and start the second group at Lion of Biblical Proportions. We can deal with that if and when it happens.

Lunch – Unplanned, we can either carry food or stop somewhere (anyone know of a good corned beef sandwich in New Berlin?). Does anyone have strong feelings one way or another?

Of course, you are welcome to come even if you don’t RSVP; I just can’t guarantee that we won’t visit some caches you have already found. Also, we might get a group together at the event to find Glow In the Dark 2 if people are interested.

    See ya!

OK, so far we have a yes from Notmuch and a maybe from Uncle Fun, Lost Boyscout, and Green and Gold.

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, this looks like a route that will work for a start, basically heading toward Sussex after picking up the two multis. Let me know if any of you have already found these. (And yes, Dave, we know you already found AWITP 17. Notmuch is telling me that we can’t leave New Berlin without finding this one. We are hoping you can expedite!)

    Bible Accuracy GC107JY
    Lion of Biblical Proportion GC1084V
Another walk in the park_17 GC105RE
    Bug Line Mini-Drop GC10G0Q
    Cachelight GC113N3
Bugline Trail – Dangle Berry GCXKV1
Bugline Trail – Cattail Swamp GCXKTZ
Hangin’ out in Lisbon Oaks GC10N16
    Eric’s Birthday Cache GC10V8B
Another walk in the Park_11 GCZ7J2
Another walk in the Park_18 GC107EZ
    Toad Hotel GCP5XH
    Hangin’ around Lost Mile GC108CT

One more thing: If anyone needs to call me, my cell is 262-497-2184.

I will already be in Waukesha so I’m pretty sure I can make it. I have already found AWITP11 so I could offer back-up on that one. The rest looks like a good bunch of caches to grab.

I wonder if maybe you might want to add: A Secure Park GC10WPQ
I see that a few of the maybes have found this. It is close to Cachelight and Bug Line Mini-drop so it could be had pretty quick and not throw the hunt off track. Just a thought.

Also “Rock In 07!” GC104J4 is about .15 miles away from AWITP18. It has been found by one of the group again I would think that this could be a quick grab and go.

Both of these caches are 1 1/2 difficulty so barring being muggled they should be quick finds.

Looks there is one or two more you could add to the list. These just popped up and are in or near Sussex.

OK, we now have 4 confirmeds (notmuch, knoffer, Sean Connery and us) and 3 maybes (Uncle Fun, Lost Boyscout and Green and Gold). I will redo the cache raids tonight in case anyone else confirms (probably around 10PM) with TWO lists, one for if the maybes show up and one for if they don’t (since Uncle Fun and Lost Boyscout together have found every cache within 10 miles of the starting point except the first two!)

And, thanks Ken for noticing the two new caches in Sussex. I have a new PQ coming which should have them, but Sussex is a little out of my notification range.

Wow! That’s an ambitious list for one afternoon. Having found Lion of Biblical Proportions and gotten stuck on Bible Accuracy, I have a feeling those two will keep you busy for quite a while.

But my family may try to get out tomorrow and try again on Bible Accuracy. Maybe we’ll see you out there on the trail.

    Dave,

Add me as a maybe. I wouldn’t be able to hang out for the entire time, but might be able to knock a few off the list. If I’m not there at 11:00, don’t wait for me.

You are probably right, but my experience is that the number of people in a group exponentiallly increases the finding speed. One person gets stuck a lot, two people get stuck once in a while, three experienced cachers only get stuck on the really diabolical hides, and four or more, well, someone is going to turn over the right rock…

Plus, nobody says we HAVE to find all those caches. Its just a lot easier to find the closest one that nobody in the group has found before we get out on the trail. Otherwise, we are all dependent on our memories and when people name their caches names like “Another walk in the park 10”, its very difficult to remember which is which until you physically get there.

So, feel free to join us just to laugh at us for the first two waypoints of Bible Accuracy, then join in the fun. Hope to see you there!

We might want to re-think Bible Accuracy, or just do the first 2 wp’s. Appears the 3rd was “lunch” for some hungry critter.

I did these today they are very close together and are both park and grabs; less than 15 minutes and you have them both.

    Also

I wonder if maybe you might want to add: A Secure Park GC10WPQ

This cache is VERY close to the two above and is a park and grab…2 minutes drive time and 1 more minute of caching will score you this one.

I think we are out for tomorrow.

As for Lion, you could probably do it if you have a bible with you. Call me on my cell if you get stuck. I will have my data sheets with me.

As for Bible Accuracy, at this point with WP3 missing. I would skip it.

Have fun. See you tomorrow night.

OK, given that Bible Accuracy appears to be out of commission, we are going to move the start tomorrow to Lion of Biblical Proportions. Here is the new attack list. I will be emailing everyone who RSVPed, but if you didn’t RSVP, hopefully you will see this. I will post a note at the Biblical Accuracy parking, but if you don’t see it, sorry about that.

    Here is the attack list:
    Lion of Biblical Proportion GC1084V
Another walk in the park_17 GC105RE
Honey, I Shrunk The Cache! GCH10J
    Shakespeare Secrets: The Script GC10Y26
Bootlegger’s Stash GCFD22 (I already have the first 3 stages, so should be easy!)
Another walk in the Park_22 GC10HDM
    A Secure Park GC10WPQ
    Cachelight GC113N3
    Sussex Park and Walk GC11F3C
    Bug Line Mini-Drop GC10G0Q
    Bug Line Drop GC103M9
Bugline Trail – Dangle Berry GCXKV1
Bugline Trail – Cattail Swamp GCXKTZ
Hangin’ out in Lisbon Oaks GC10N16
    Emma’s First Micro GC11F36
    Eric’s Birthday Cache GC10V8B

See you all tomorrow! There is parking for the GC1084V to the NE of the first waypoint, which is where I will be at 11, but I will be looking toward the cache if you approach from the other direction.
