I have been asked why I have not started this thread .. well, I have sort of been pretty busy setting up the 5th Annual Waukesha Winter JanBoree Event. I am very hopeful we will have 200 participants this year.

So, once the event is done, I will write more to post here.

A big thank you to the 175 participants who braved the cold on Saturday to attend the JanBoree Event. Our sponsors were very thrilled with the turn out.

So, why am I running for a position on the WGA Board?

I would like to represent you on the WGA Board because I feel that I can bring 1) experience planning and conducting events that draw between 150-250 participants, 2) experience with Geocaching Basics classes and presentations for Park Professionals and 3) the unique perspective of being both a Geocacher and a Parks & Recreation Professional.

I would like to see the WGA move forward by 1) getting more members involved in committees, 2) working more closely with the DNR to perhaps open up more areas to geocaching that are currently closed, 3) work to offer Geocaching 101 and perhaps even 201, at locations across the state and 4) support members in hosting their own meet and greet type of events in areas that we have not seen events previously.
