For me, geocaching has been about the people and places. I started in February 2004 after watching a friend having fun doing it. The people have been the many now geocaching friends I have met along the way. The places have been all the interesting locations and situations geocaching has either brought or allowed me to experience. Speaking of both, I met The Tapps/ Brian at the 1st Waukesha Winter JanBoree event I hosted in 2005. We were married in August 2008, hosting our Geocaching Wedding event. And yes, it took a bit for my mom to accept we wore camo print!
I am a Recreation Supervisor for the City of Greenfield Dept of Parks & Recreation where I develop, plan and implement the Aquatics, Playground, Fitness Arts, Dance and Safety programs. In 2010, I hired 95 part time staff, held 715 different classes, serving 7,895 participants and grossed nearly $250,000. Of my 20 years with the City, it was one of my busiest.
I have been serving WGA on the Board of Directors the past 2 years in the role of Treasurer. 2010 was also perhaps one of the busiest years for WGA with the added events, shirt sales, pathtags and geocoins. As the Treasurer, I was involved with each in one way or another taking the registrations, taking the orders, selling the shirts, paying the bills, etc. I would like to continue serving on the WGA Board of Directors because I feel we have just gotten started. While it may seem ambitious to strive for more regional events and CITO events, I feel we have the experience and with the participation of the membership that we can do it.

In the Girl Scout world, I was the first girl in Milwaukee to receive the Silver and Gold Awards .. the Gold being like the Boy Scout Eagle Award. As an adult volunteer, I received the Thanks Badge and Thanks Badge 2 Awards which are the highest given. I also was a Master certified Trainer.
