I’m back home in Wisconsin after quite an adventure searching for Geocaches in the Netherlands and India. First of all, despite my security and law enforcement training, I had my Garmin V stolen from me near the Van Gogh Museum by a pickpocket.
The thief must have been a pro because I had it in a buttoned pocket on my coat! I got on the Tram and did a pat to verify it was still there…only it wasn’t! Unbelievable how fast it must have happened. I considered buying a rat trap to plant in my pocket for the next hooligan to grab
but I decided I came all this way, may as well see the sights.
I thought of buying a new unit until I discovered the Garmin V went for 629 Euros, which is more than double the price of what you’d pay around here!
Even the E Trex was like 300 Euro! 1 Euro = about $1.40!
I had to drop of a travel bug and it seemed like a shame to bring it that far only to have to take it home. So I managed to contact Canyon Rose who helped me a lot with information on a cache I couldn’t miss. A red car that had been turned into a giant planter (GC9591). Sure enough I located it and dropped off the bug!
On to India, where I managed to find GC3906, that was no problem since I was going to the Taj Mahal anyway. Finally I found GC5605, also in Agra, India. I manged to track it down based on the descriptions and pictures in the logs…hey I’m getting good at this sport!
I will attempt to upload some pictures of the caches I found in my gallery in case anyone is interested.
