What images does a Geocaching Picnic at Devil’s Lake draw in your mind?
You may say: “Great, I love to hike and can’t wait to hike on the cliff and enjoy the views”.
Or, you may say: “Are they nuts??, no fricken way are they getting me up on those cliffs!”
Well the good news…There will be a little of each. Devil’s lake is a very large park with varying terraine. Yes, there will be some caches near the top of the bluffs, but NO, you don’t have to climb those trecherous trails.
Old news to some, but there are gravel access roads that lead to the bluffs from the N/E. These trails are easy walks with moderate grade. The Mothership/satellite caches will be in an area with an easy walk, and may even be wheelchair accessible. These access roads can bring you to the bluffs w/o the vigorous climbs.
From the looks of things, the majority of caches will be easy hikes, with a few thrown in by the bluffs for the adventure seeking crowd.
So, the bottom line…there is going to be a nice mix of caches for EVERYONE
