FYI for those liking to hike in Hixon Forest. There was a 200-250 pound bear spotted today in Hixon Forest. I cannot tell you the exact location, however.

There was a reported bear sighting within the last couple of days in Wauwatosa. This was just a couple of miles north of where a bear was darted two years ago.

I noticed that too. Any chance it could be the same bear as before?

It may be time to put-away my fur coat for the season. 🙄

I noted they had to put down a 300# black bear near Baldwin yesterday morning. Evidently it got hit by a car on I-94 and was banged up pretty good. May have been the same one that skirted through our front yard last summer – eeek! 😯

Nothing was said about any collar on it. I would assume that the one two years ago was probably radio collared before being released. But who knows.

The bears around here are likely plural. I missed out, the sighting in Hixon was during my Audubon Club’s last warbler walk! Dang! I wanted to go, but am trying to make sure no senior skip nonsense goes on at our house before graduation, so I’m not leaving early these school days. Darn! The figured it to be around 250 pounds.

The other bear was seen in West Salem, where we live…right in town. Probably a good 8 miles over at least two ridges between the two sightings.
