MY FAMILY AND I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO CACHE.WE HAVE A GARMIN ETREX LEGEND AND DON’T REALLY HAVE A CLUE ON WHAT TO DO.PLEASE HELP!

Your next stop would be to go to this page:
http://www.geocaching.com/In the upper right hand corner, put in your zip code. This will create a list of the caches nearest to you.
Pick one of those caches on that first page. (I personally think it’s fun to find the first one close to your home.) Click on the name of that cache. All the information about that cache will come up on a new page. See the coordinates? (They will start with Nsomethingº something, Wsomethingº something.) You need to input those numbers into your Etrex Legend. (See your owner’s manual or maybe someone here with and Etrex can help also. That’s not me.)
Once you have them in your Etrex, you can make it point you in the right direction. (Once again, refer to owner’s manual or maybe someone here with an Etrex can help.) I would also recommend printing out the page of the cache to help you with your search – it helps to have the clues and description with you. And if you need a map to get you to the area, click on the picture of the map right near the logged visits section and MapQuest will pop up in another window and help show you how to get there. (Once again, if you do a really close cache first, you’re most likely to know the area/park you are headed to so it makes it a little bit easier.)
Take your Etrex and go find!!!! The first couple caches will really give you a feel for how to use your Etrex.
If someone who lives in your area is willing, they may be able to accompany you on your first cache or two (or more). Once again, that’s not me – I’m not near Milwaukee. But we have LOTS of cachers who are!!!! Or, if you’re willing to wait a couple weeks, join us at the WGA annual picnic and meet LOTS and LOTS of cachers and tag along for the caches there for some learning fun!!! Here’s a link to the page with the picnic info:
