I caught up with Green & Gold this afternoon. All of us that know him know that he is THE ULTIMATE FAN! Well being the ultimate fan has paid off.
During football season Green & Gold (Mike) entered a trivia contest having to answer three questions regarding football. Green & Gold answered all three questions correctly which placed him in a drawing for tickets to the NFL Draft Pick in New York City.
Well…..back in February Mike received an email congratulating him, he was one of 50 winners that were going to the draft!
Channel 4 caught wind of Green & Gold’s great luck and they interviewed him. SO, what I’m trying to tell you is watch Green & Gold on Channel 4 Sunday Eventing News at 10 pm.
Congratulation Mike on your prize, I look forward to seeing you on the news, and I wish you and Uncle_Fun (Dave) a very safe journey to NYC. I hope you get to see the sights, get perhaps a few caches in π , eat some street vending food (with caution), and persuade the Packers to pick 16 fantastic players that will play well together. π

04/23/2007 at 8:37 pm #1873459I’m on the list for season tickets. I have been for 13 years. I have about another 40 to go before I’ll get any. I’ve tried to get moved up the list by pleading with anyone who will listen (which isn’t almost anyone). It’s not happening.
Incidentally, my grandfather, Edward Sampson, played for the Packers form 1919 until 1921. He was a founding member that worked for the Acme Meat Packing Company right alongside Curly Lambeau. He’s in the Packers Hall of Fame too. Well, him and is whole team for all three years is. Still, no tickets. I’ve never seen a game in person. π₯ But, I’m optimistic about it.
04/23/2007 at 10:03 pm #1873460If I had gotten on the list when I moved to Green Bay almost 3 decades ago, I would have been pretty close by now. I probably couldn’t afford them anyhow π I’ve got a friend though that plays in one of the Packer bands, and usually once a season he can get me a sideline pass for a game. What kind of fun is that! 8)
04/23/2007 at 10:27 pm #1873461Roz once worked with a woman who’s husband had his name on the list for a very long time. He got tired of waiting so he died. A couple of years later the tickets arrived in the mail. That was Friday night. On Monday she told Roz she didn’t think anyone would want them so she sent them back.
I cried for a week.04/24/2007 at 1:56 am #1873462@decdogg wrote:
