I have been gradually picking up paper topo maps for our area, filling in some blank spots and updating to 7-1/2′ maps where we previously had 15′ ones. Even the updates on most are from 25 years ago, so not everything is accurate. (I prefer paper to digital maps, kind of old school.)
However, I keep seeing “BM’ with a triangle and elevation number at certain points, some of which I know are where benchmarks are. Can these be used in a reverse way to go on the bechmarking site to find specifics of a benchmark? Sometimes I don’t know where to start on the site lists because the “names” and directions can be confusing, but if I see a spot on a map, I can get a better idea of where to look.
