I had a thought of putting one near Bessie in Janesville but, there’s a cache about 475ft away.
03/09/2015 at 6:26 pm #2037009The big cow that was at the old dairy along Hwy 41 in Peshtigo is now by the intersection of Z and ZZ. That area is calling out for caches!

03/09/2015 at 9:16 pm #2037037Hey all-
Becca- You could go ahead with the placement of the Neillsville cache. To keep some uniformity throughout the series, would you mind titling it “Big Cow Series- Chatty Belle”? Thanks for your help.
Lacknothing- Same deal. If you would like, go right ahead with the Romy’s Nitingale hide.
CEO&J- I too saw the hide in close range of Bessie, though I am sure 475 feet could be fairly easy to get outside of. Maybe placing it somewhere on the other side of 26 near all of those businesses? In the same breath, I am close enough to Janesville to hide one there (maybe 15 minutes further away than you) if you don’t want to.
Thanks for everybody’s help. If possible, I would maybe like a few more cows to add to the series. Maybe I can send some friendly nudges to a few prolific hiders…
I can take the Deforest cow on my own (and the Janesville one, if need be), along with a final.
03/09/2015 at 10:36 pm #2037058OK, will do. I’m trying to figure out who to contact about gaining permission for the cache placement. I’m hoping to have it on the grounds somewhere. I’ll hide it in the next week or two.

03/09/2015 at 11:00 pm #2037060We always called the Peshtigo cow the “Holy Cow”. Not very original, but we were in high school

03/10/2015 at 7:50 am #2037063There’s one in Lena too…gas station/convenience store at the intersection of Highway 41 and Co. A…but she’s not standing up…she’s lying down chewing her cud 😆

03/10/2015 at 11:39 am #2037072I wonder if Babe The Blue Ox in Lakewood counts. I’m just putting out a shameless plug for GC1VWB6

Go ahead and hide Bessie.
If you need a hand with maintenance or want me to check on it sometime, just let me know. I’d be glad to lend a hand.
I’m only about a mile away from her while I’m at work. Plus, I frequent the nearby home improvement center on a REGULAR basis. 🙂

03/23/2015 at 12:14 pm #2037696I placed the cache by Chatty Belle, now I just have to work on permission. I thought I’d be able to do that on-site. This sure is proving to be tricky! I’ll keep plugging away.

03/23/2015 at 3:48 pm #2037702Oh, I cannot wait to revisit Chatty Belle! It’s been ages since I’ve seen her, because highway 10 has been rerouted. My first time, my dad was helping me move from home to grad school in Stevens Point and when we saw her looming ahead, just had to stop. Dad put the money into the little speaker thing and just about died laughing at the little girly voice from this ginormous Holstein.
This kind of thing may well explain my love of weird roadside things and the challenge we created. 😉
03/23/2015 at 6:29 pm #2037714I’ll get Romy’s cow placed next time I am out that way. Need to find an appropriate container!

03/23/2015 at 6:51 pm #2037715There’s a big angus bull in Wautoma, Babe the Blue Ox in Dells and Minocqua, a hereford bull in Eau Claire(not sure about that one anymore as the highway goes around town now).
03/23/2015 at 9:24 pm #2037734I believe there is another cow in Omro

03/23/2015 at 9:32 pm #2037737I have learned something this evening. Having even one beer while sewing isn’t the best idea. I was working on my granddaugher’s birthday present dress and realized I’d twisted the shoulder strap on one side while doing up the side seams.
My seam ripper and I got to spend a little time together and I’ll just finish my beer while watching “Newhart” reruns.
