    Hi!!

I’m Bill Folk. Many of you know my wife and I by Folk Trakers.

I was born and raised in Racine…it’s about 30 minutes south of Milwaukee for those of you who have never heard of it. I live in a home on the north side with my wife Stephanie and our two cats, Breezy and Samantha.

I am currently a fulltime student at the University of Phoenix and a Medicare Provider Auditor for United Government Services. I have run for political office in my community twice and have come to know many people in the local government. Politics is a passion for me and I know how to get on the good side of many bureaucrats. I feel this experience will enable me to be truly effective with the DNR and Parks representatives in furthering our relationships.

Geoffnsara introduced us to this sport back in April of 2002. Geoff had found an article about this sport in the Milwaukee newspaper and Sara was kind enough to bring it to work one day…the rest, they say, is history.

To our credit we have found over 425 caches in 7 different states. We have placed 4 caches; two are multis, one is a micro and our first cache (now deactivated) was a traditional. One of my proudest achievements is that of all the caches found, I have never cached alone, we always cache as team Folk Trakers!!!

Last summer we came across a number of caches that had seen better days. That prompted us to start carrying a survival kit for caches. This kit includes index cards, golf pencils and baggies, just to name a few items. We have had to use our kit many times on the trails and we are glad to help.

I love this sport because it allows us to see so many sights that we would have never taken the time to see. It brings me closer to my wife since we are never alone on the trails. It has also allowed me to meet so many wonderful people that have offered us their assistance and their friendship.

I feel that becoming a member of the WGA Board would allow me to expand my reach from only those I meet, to all cachers in Wisconsin and this great sport of Geocaching.
