For anyone who’s interested, there are pelicans at Dorothy Carnes Park (home of Carnes Cache). This is just a temporary nesting spot for them, so hurry if you want to see them!
Also, if you hunt Jewelry Box of Rock or Find at Founder’s Field, keep your ears tuned in for an odd screeching sound. Those are baby barred owls (they’re called owlets actually). And if you know approximately where I live you will be able to catch a glimpse of them. They are pretty much always around (they’re not just nocturnal birds) and the young ones are always screeching (it’s a parent call). The babies are getting close to full fledge, but still recognizable as immature birds.
The same pair have nested in my neck of the woods for the last few years. I enjoy watching them.
I’ve just ordered my new, much better, camera, but did manage to get a couple good shots of the owls to share:
Here’s mama (females are slightly larger than males, have a higher pitched call — which is the “who cooks for you, who cook for you all” you may have heard. They also stay near the nest area while the male hunts for the family):

And here is one of the owlets. The adults are fairly used to humans (and my dogs) and will actually come closer. I had to follow the babies around the baseball area to get a decent shot. I actually got within about 50 feet of one of the young ‘uns, but couldn’t get the camera up in time:
