Hi webmaster in charge of Board Nominations:

There are not radio buttons next to the names when it says they need a “second”, just bullet points. Am I missing something?

    EDIT:

I just saw that it said “following members”. Sorry. But there are no “following members stated…

Our webmasters set it up to show names below that paragraph … “The following…” only when they have received one nomination and are in a queue waiting for a second. The second usually comes quickly from another member. That’s why you don’t see names listed there for very long, if at all.

To all WGA members: We’re still looking for more nominations. Please review the bylaws to learn more about what Board members do. Then consider volunteering to serve. It’s a fun bunch of people, and you get the opportunity to shape the direction and events of the WGA. If you’d like to be nominated, just post a note to say so somewhere in the forums and I’m sure you’ll find yourself on the list straight away.

Sorry for the confusion. Yes, I could make it smart enough not to display the ‘The following WGA members have 1 nomination and are looking for a second.’ sentence when there isn’t anyone with one nomination. I will make this change the next time I’ve got to make updates to the election system.

The other thing that has tripped people up is that when you nominate someone for the first time they do not automatically appear in the list of people with one nomination. It clearly states this when you make the nomination, but some people ignore this message. Basically, I make sure the person nominated is eligible and also send out an email asking them whether they want to serve on the Board… until I hear they accept the nomination, their name is not listed on the elections page.
