I think that most of us are fairly modest but I’d really love to know what cache you are most proud of. What ONE cache have you placed that eclipses the rest that you own?

For me I think my best is GC11PT3 REWARD FOR CAPTURE!

Seriously, I’m sure you have a cache you are really proud of…

I have two that I like:

The more difficult one, is a co-owned hide with Sagasu: The Modles Nees 500

    The best view:

    2000 Echos

Funny enough, both are tribute/thanks caches…

My best cache is A Matter of Perspective, but I can’t say why. 8)

i think my best cache is probably Proud to Serve GCWYEQ
because its well placed and its a dedication to all who have served…

    Cache to Eagle Series

Harrington: Risen to Power ( GC13FWY ) … I’m not sure there’s anything like it, at least not in a Wisc. State Park. It’s not hard, just different.

Note, that you need to find 2 other caches to find and “access” the cache … they are nearby and noted on the above cache’s page.

CAUTION: This cache will not be available during deer hunting season, as it’s in an area open to hunting (Muzzleloader Season รขโ‚ฌยฆ likely 11/17/07 to 12/2/07).

That’s kind of like asking which of your kids ya love the most.

For different reasons, I have a lot of favs, and hate to have to pick just one.

I will say that I really like the Trivial Pursuit series, which is a series of 7 caches in a hilly nature area, which requires a little problem solving along the way. Ya have issues to contend with like where to cross the creek, is it better to take the trail and walk a ways or get cut up by briars, is it better to go clockwise or not, plus ya gotta figure out 6 easy trivia questions, all leading to a final destination. All 7 are large ammo boxes and easy to find, once ya figure out how best to get to GZ. The walk takes most people several hours. From the logs, people either love it or hate it, and I suppose it depends on how well you do with the problem solving required, and if ya like long walks in the woods.

The cache page for the final of the Trivial Pursuit series is: GC1178D.

Mine is this one Shipwrecked on Fantasy Island GCVP2P , just for the fun I have reading the creative logs and replying to some of them! ๐Ÿ˜† (read a few, you will have a good laugh)

I am also very honored to have three caches on the Holy Hill grounds.

It is so difficult to pick just one. I have so many favorites, for so many reasons, whether it’s favorite view/location, clever hide, best container or best puzzle. So, I’ll pick one of each. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The cache with the best container is Riddler’s Compass, because of the unique locking mechanism, and the container I hand made for it.

My best puzzle cache is without a doubt Signs just because of the difficulty folks are having solving this one.

My favorite clever hide is most definitely the container I hand made for For Those About To Rock even though it’s not near the most difficult in the series to find.

And lastly, the cache with the best location or favorite view is by far Match Head. If I absolutely had to pick a single favorite, it would be this one. It’s seen so many milestones, and won the COTY last year, and most importantly, it has consistently provided me with the best logs of any of our caches.

I just hope you like these as much as I do!

      Where’s Dave?

      Followed by 2 others:
Fav Fishing Spot – Asylum Bay has gotten some nice logs. I loved this H20-proof container when I found it and this spot along the water. Nice easy drive up for cacher’s who like that kind of thing but also a fairly scenic view at the same time. Apparently right now it comes with a bonus, a beached 4 ft sturgeon that seems to be getting ripe!

Matt’s First Cache in Adam’s County is another fun one that my son and I placed together. He came up with the whole idea! I just came along for the ride and helped with the posting. It will not get a lot of attention due to it’s location but it’s a fun two part multi that takes you into the woods following animal trails along a creek.

It would have to be the one we get the most fun responses on… But.. we couldn’t have even planted this cache without the help of Rogheff, Missyja007 and Freespace69.

      Its a fun one…

Im also proud of our DaVinci series… its been alot of fun to hear from all the people who’ve done the caches in the series, and completed it.

It’s hard to pick a favorite when they are all special in their own way. The “Trail of the serpent” series is 29 caches long and it is fun to read the logs from cachers doing that series as they discover the special points of interest at each spot. Some have the view, some are historic and some are spots that we have discovered growing up along the Fox River.

We have several in the French Creek area in the triangle made up of Pardeeville, Portage and Montello. This is the area that Sloughfoot grew up in so they are all special in that they are an invitation to see the spots that me and my brothers and friends spent our time in. Going to these places will give you an idea about what I mean when I say “Its a Sloughfoot kind of place”

But the favorite of all would be GCW5R4 “French Creek Kelly’s Island.” This one has what Team Sloughfoot thinks caching is all about. It’s not particularly hard to get to but requires a .8 mi walk each way. It is on public land with a view to die for. WP1 gets you to the parking area and the final is an ammo can. There is a small water hazard which varies with the water level of the marsh and draws funny comments in the logs. To see what other cachers think about this cache go read the logs from PeaceB_W/U from Oct 24.2006 and Seekers8711 from Dec24,06

      Thanks for asking….Sloughfoot

The logs I enjoyed the most came from The Fleeflammer

      and What the?

I think my favourite was our Christmas cache – St. Nichols comes to Camelot. I tried to be very consistent in carrying the theme throughout and sometimes it just made me laugh putting it out there. Sagasu was the first to find it and he said each waypoint made him smile. That’s exactly how I felt too.

For us it is GC172T8 – “Pirate Pete’s Plunder.” This is one of those caches that started with a small concept but grew bigger with each “wouldn’t it be neat if” idea–in the hides themselves, in the waypoint and cache containers, shopping for and stocking the cache, and in the listing description. Ultimately it ended up being something that everyone was able to contribute to, that we had a lot of fun planning (and building), and that ideally we hope will be a cache that has a little something for everyone in it, and particularly for kids who like to open the Big Box at the end of the hunt.

The only downside–as a puzzle cache, it’s going to be shunned by a whole bevy of cachers! C’est la vie…
