Who is up for a break with traditional fare?
This morning, a Hmong friend treated me to an Asian breakfast. I had never been to a Thai, Chinese or Japanese restaurant for breakfast. I hadn’t given it much thought. I guess breakfast really is part of life wherever one may be. Mia Soua served up a plate of Asian noodles, fried rice, a cabbage roll, and Asian sausage that was very pleasing and quite unique. It was prepared in the typical Hmong manner, little fat or salt. Perhaps we Americans might want to spice it up a bit but I found it delicious.

The point of this message is that we have been looking for a fresh idea for another breakfast and Mai Soua has offered to cater an Asian breakfast for geocachers. Is this something that would be of interest, say March 26th? In Hartford perhaps? She has offered to add a few items of traditional American fare for the less adventurous too.

Without check first with the other 3/4ths of our team … I’d have to say it sounds interesting to us … but that would depend on how early in the morning it will start … not sure how early I can get the kids up on a Saturday for a 45 min drive. I say … if you do it, they will come.

Hey Ray, sounds like all you need to do now is get the cache page ready for submission! You’ve already worked out the date and place. Sounds like fun to me…I’ll have to check w/ the Commander.

This sounds fun! The Trakers are a maybe.

I like the idea of some new foods. We love Asian-inspired foods and would love this treat.

Hartford! Asian Breakfast! Geocachers! Man that is some recipe. At least, I don;t have to try and solve some puzzle to get to this, I hope! Count me in.

I figure an Asian breakfast menu will be puzzle enough. 😉

All I ask is two things …

        (1) NOT “all you can eat” cabage rolls.

        (2) And DO include this Attribute on the event listing: http://www.geocaching.com/images/attributes/restrooms-yes.gif

I love Thai food! Never had any of their breakfast items though.

Although I have the sinking suspicion that I’m on-call that weekend…

Great idea….but a bad weekend for us. That is the day before Easter and my family will be in Florida. Tami

We could bring the Big Little Jeep! Then we wouldn’t have to hang onto it until April!

Oh yeah, and breakfast & socializing too of course….

I love the idea of getting together for breakfast again. I miss the breakfasts we’ve had on a regular breakfast.

I’d have to pass on this one though. I prefer a little more traditional breakfast. Sounds like fear factor for GrouseTales
