I happened to hear on tv this morning that there was going to be a geocaching competition at the chocolate festival in Burlington this Memorial Day weekend. Here is the link: http://www.chocolatefest.com
05/14/2008 at 2:27 pm #1889226Only 10 teams allowed? No wonder we didn’t hear about it…
Geocache Treasure Hunt
Come join the first ChocolateFest Geocache / Treasure Hunt the first Saturday 5/24/08! Let your GPS and detective skills pay off in Prizes and Chocolate.
$20.00 per team of four, includes T-shirts and ChocolateFest passes.
Start times will be assigned a week before the hunt.
This will be a timed event so invite up to three friends to join the team!
Only ten teams will be participating this year so hurry and register via the ChocolateFest website at http://www.chocolatefest.com
We will start at Gooseberries where rules and regs will be explained and the required paperwork will be signed.
Please pay the day of the contest.
Be there or just be Lost!!!
Any questions Contact Cap’n Rich at 262-492-2543

05/14/2008 at 5:25 pm #1889228There was an article about Chocolate Fest and the Geocaching in the Racine Journal on Tuesday, May 13.
Doesn’t sound like you’ll be able to Log your finds on Geocaching.com.

I’m in…if you’ll take me.
05/15/2008 at 4:27 pm #1889232$400 worth of Chocolate?!?!?! That made my already strained belt GROAN in protest.
05/15/2008 at 4:33 pm #1889233My wife had already heard about this and wanted to do this as a family. Considering two of the 4 of us are allergic to chocolate and two of the 4 of us are under 13 (read s..l..o..w), I think I better sneak off on my own and not cache with the fam.
I’m not a huge fan of chocolate…unless it’s DARK CHOCOLATE then I’m a HUGE fan.
05/15/2008 at 4:39 pm #1889234YES! LB7 – a hard-core cacher going for the CHOCOLATE – yee ha! 😀 Okay one more… Oh and let’s stop for strong caffeinated beverages on the way there so we can run, run, run on our sugar/caffeine high! 😛

You wont even have to stop- apparently Gooseberries is giving away free coffee, water and snacks at the starting line
05/15/2008 at 5:24 pm #1889236I will be like Beavis – ayyeyyeyyeeee! 😯 😯 😛

With the promise of huge chocolate treats and prizes, I can’t believe marc_54140 isn’t all over this! 🙂
A little bird told me that LDove was trying to assemble a women’s ringer team on the order of the Wisconsin super team that went down to Texas for Geo-Woodstock 06. But if Gary is crossing the gender barrier (sort of like a modern day Jackie Robinson) maybe it is safe for other guys? So I will join Team LDove if no one else wants to… or maybe I should create my own team? 😈

WOOT! I was wondering if you were going to step up…Now lets kick some coca butt.
05/15/2008 at 7:19 pm #1889239I decided to stop spying on the forums, and actually post to say I’m excited to be part of the future winning team. 😀 I couldn’t pass up anything that had the name “chocolate” in it.
