Congrats to my buddy and twin sister 😉 on reaching the remarkable goal of 5000. To me…this is especially an amazing feat, because a good portion of the time you cache alone.
We did do Texas together and a good weekend in Illinois, but I know many times you are out there trudging the wilderness and urban jungles for caches, alone.
Many of us, Wisconsin cachers, go it alone & Congrats to all that do, but I find being female and out there alone…it can be a bit intimidating!!
Way to go Sis!! Here is to another 5000!! To think….just 25 days ago, you broke 4800. Hey……You cache too much!!! ROFLMAO
11/27/2006 at 3:48 pm #1767107Way to go!!! 5000 is a big event. Are you doing anything to celebrate?
11/27/2006 at 4:47 pm #1767108WOW. 5000 finds, that is quite an accomplishment. I can only imagine the amount of hours you have invested to make these finds and support the Sport. Great job. Keep up the good work and Happy caching.
11/27/2006 at 8:47 pm #1767109Congratulations, Diane. That really is quite an accomplishment. Keep it going.

Big CONGRATS on 5K….That is just awesome. I really hope to be able to cache some day with the queen of bushwhack, and learn from your wise ways. Does that sound like BS? yeah, I think so too, at least a little, but I do hope to cache with ya some day.

😕 Well Gusty Winds, not sure who Susan is and what number you are talking about. I’ve been called Denise before (my twin sister’s name), on occasion Debbie (guess I look like a Debbie to some), but never Susan.
Could you be mixing me up with PolskaQueen (not sure what her name is) by chance? ❓

11/29/2006 at 5:06 am #1767117😀 Thanks everyone. Though I don’t completely do it for the numbers, numbers drive me to get those caches. I’m an accountant and if you know accountants, we don’t count anything without a calculator. My calculator is geocaching.com, I hope the calculator doesn’t break!
It’s been a busy two plus years on the trails. In that time I’ve made many new friends, strengthened friendships with existing ones, pushed my body to it’s limits and then some, challenged my mind to think like others or just to think hard to solve problems, used more “girl” trees than I have ever in my life, and been to and seen many different places that I wouldn’t normally have had my eyes “open” to.
In the time I’ve been caching I’ve also completed my BA (yes with highest praise), am currently pursuing my MBA, and changed jobs that have increased my responsibilities. I’ve seen my son graduate middle school and moved onto high school, watched my son play baseball, basketball, and football in towns across many states (which thanks to geocaching and my GPSr I can get around town very comfortably), and have had the pleasure of having my son drive me around practicing his driving skills (and testing my understanding of what direction is right and what is left 😆 — joke to those that have cached with me).
Yes I know there is life beyond geocaching and I have a fuller life to be able to fit it in along with all the other activities in my life.
Looking forward to the next time I see/meet you on the trails….
Diane
B.Queen11/29/2006 at 12:01 pm #1767118There must be something in the water in Washington County… Look at the caching activity there. Diane, your drive on the trails is inspiring. keep it up. T&tb
