Not the end of the world, but I listed a “Will Attend” on 9/6/07 for an event held 9/29/07 … then I logged my “Attended” on 9/29/07.
But, now my Account screen keeps showing:
I plan to attend (in the next 30 days):
9/6/2007 You will attend Intro to Geocaching – Kohler-Andrae State Park (Event Cache)I would think this reminder should go away … since the event is past and/or I logged that I attended. Am I doing something wrong?
10/05/2007 at 11:07 pm #1879722Mine has done the same thing lately, even for my own event. It will go away about a week after the event, at least mine did.
10/06/2007 at 12:05 am #1879723People have been complaining about this little blip on the big forums too. It either goes away 30 days after you logged your Will Attend (like the others that fall off the bottom after a month) OR it maybe goes away when the event is archived. I’m not sure which it is – but for sure it does NOT go away just because the event happened.
It’ll disappear eventually.
10/08/2007 at 3:14 pm #1879724You can just edit your “Will attend” to “Attended” that will remove it. I just did that with an event.
10/08/2007 at 6:09 pm #1879725czernicachers is right – I forgot about that. If you do edit it, don’t forget to change the log date as well.
10/08/2007 at 8:35 pm #1879726Ok … originally I had a “Will Attend”, then I added an “Attended” … two separate entries … which seems to be the logic way to do it, and what I believe others do. So I guess maybe I’ll DELETE my “Will Attend” entry … it’s a little thing, but it bothers me to see that up there, makes it look like I have a caching waiting to be approved, at first glance.
10/08/2007 at 9:12 pm #1879727For me it goes away 30 days after you post the “will attend”..whether the date has actually come or not. For example, I signed up for an event over a month before the actual event, and the reminder dissappeared before the date it came. But on the other hand, I signed up for an event like the day before it was to be held and the reminder didn’t go away for 29 days..it’s just weird..
10/08/2007 at 9:26 pm #1879728Hee, hee … just was going in to delete my “Will Attend” … and now the problem is gone. And sure enough … I had registered my “Will Attend” on 9/6, so it must have went away this past weekend.
I suppose, the programmer in me says that it would be kinda tough for the system to pay attention to the event date or if you “Attended”, but making some code that expires in 30 days, would be pretty do-able.
