There is a cache that I have been monitoring (GC69CD) that has had nothing but DNFs since October and a “Needs Maintenance” log in May. I emailed the owners about possibly adopting the cache.
If I don’t get a response, can I “forcibly” adopt the cache? Should it be archived by WGA and then I place a different cache? Just wondering is there is standard operating procedure for this kind of thing.
Thanks, Dave! That link really helps clear things up.
But it brings up another question. I would like to contact the cache reviewer for this area to see what is the best way to proceed (forced adoption vs. archival and new placement). How do I determine who the reviewer is for this area (Waupaca County) or can I contact any of them? Is there a list of the reviewers on this site?
All reviewers cover the entire state.
We split up the time spent reviewing, not the geography.
Send me an e-mail and I’ll see if I can help.

Hi – Are we discussing the Hobo cache in Waupaca? I emailed the owners about a month ago or so offering to adopt this cache, and have had no response. We, too, would be interested in possibly taking this one over, as it is an awesome place for a cache.

Yup, that’s the cache I was talking about specifically. It looks like it is going to probably be archived, but that would open the area up to a new cache. I am thinking about trying to place a new cache there since it is such a fabulous area. Will do a little scouting this weekend and figure some things out.
