So one of my goals this summer is to get a cache in every county in wisconsin, and probably the delorme at the same time. Is there way to see county lines or search by county or delorme page? I have gsak and I can see the county column, but having a difficult time finding a effecient method of plotting out trips and such making sure I hit specific counties. I know lots of people have done this, anyone care to share the method to this maddness?
Nate,
Go to the GSAK page and look for the county macro and the Delorme macro. I believe there is a county one, it’s either that or a site that does it. I have a Delorme one, but at a hotel in the Dells with a cruddy connection otherwise I’d send it to you.
Funny you mentioned the challenges as that’s what I was going to look to see what I needed for this area.
Look in the sidebar here called “It’s Not About the Numbers.” You can run a PQ of your finds, load it there and get all kinds of amazing information about your caching, including a Wisconsin county map that highlights which counties you have done.
Nate,
For planning a trip and making sure you hit every county/page along the way, there is no single tool that will do it all. I export from GSAK to MS Streets & Trip, which shows county lines, and I’ve made a workable Delorme pages overlay for it also. I’ve also done the same thing with Delorme Topo USA. If you have either of those programs, I can send you the overlay files.
Sending you a PM with file.
