I thought there was a thread somewhere on this topic, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. I am looking for a “numbers run” area in Wisconsin. I know about West Bend, and I have been there. And I live in GB, so there is nothing to be found in the Green Bay area.
I am not talking about a nice afternoon run of 25 – 30 caches. I am saying, a well planned afternoon/evening into the next morning could yield 75+ finds.
Thank you for your help.
01/12/2011 at 5:50 pm #1942024Winter time is not really the best time for this…..cache density is deceiving when they under an inch of ice….or were you planning ahead?
There are a number of bike trails you could try…or are you looking for driving caches?
01/12/2011 at 6:17 pm #1942025I am planning ahead. Looking at spring time or summer.
01/12/2011 at 6:52 pm #1942026The Bugline Trail in Northern Waukesha County has 50+ caches and the surrounding area has another 200 within a few miles. A 100+ day has been done by quite few cachers here.
I might be a little biased since I have 150 active caches in this area of which you could also probably do 75-100 in a long day.
.

Long days are not a problem. Thank you so much. This is the kind of stuff I am looking for.
01/12/2011 at 9:57 pm #1942029Any of major metro area’s with proper planning can be a 100 day. A day planned for 35 ended up getting 51 in appleton in the middle of winter if we had started off earlier and planned more 100 could’ve been done.
There is(was?) a power trail just east of madison, old railroad bed.
01/12/2011 at 10:28 pm #1942030Nicolet State Trail and vicinity has a string of around 45 that’s on my radar. From around Laona Junction to Carter. Only about 20 miles. Yet being from Green Bay, you may have done it already.

08/10/2011 at 2:27 am #1942033Wausau has lots of caches too, including the Battleship series, which I believe has over 100 caches.

106 altogether. Most (99/100) of the “grid” caches are park n grabs. Could easily be done in a day.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
