566 Caches in 24 hrs record set there. I hope this isnt a repost.
03/30/2010 at 8:02 pm #1926198We cached in that part of California in 2008. I will say that it is very rugged country. You really need a 4×4 for sure. And lots of water.
03/30/2010 at 9:04 pm #1926199Looks like cluster #@!& to me!
03/30/2010 at 9:26 pm #1926200I’m sure each cache highlights a different aspect of the area………..Look, a rock! Look, sand! Look, another rock! Look, more sand!

More like, there’s a power line tower, and another…in fact if you check out the google sat map, that’s exactly how they arranged this “power” trail!
04/01/2010 at 12:45 pm #1926202I’m thinking a military humvee? Anyone got one?

Humvee? That’s so 90’s. We need us an MATV or a Hemmit! 😈

Second on the MATV, I’ve been in one at work and they are sweet.
04/02/2010 at 1:58 pm #1926205This one even has a gun turret!
04/02/2010 at 2:22 pm #1926206Oh yeah!
I got a chance to hop in one of these once when Oshkosh Truck was showing it off to some of their parts manufacturers. What a caching machine!
Oshkosh’s slogen for this one is “Get There First”. 🙂04/02/2010 at 3:20 pm #1926207Micros in the desert. I’m thinking under rocks. Now I’m thinking scorpions.
04/14/2010 at 1:44 am #1926208Saw the line up this morning, sent the link to my wife and tonight they all appear to be archived 😛
I should have taken a screenshot.
04/14/2010 at 2:28 pm #1926209Those ones do look to be trimmed down. But if you look just east of the highway you see this: http://www.geocaching.com/map/default.aspx?lat=35.60762664755081&lng=-115.51162719726562&zm=11&mt=m Didn’t pay attention, so I do know if that was there before.
04/14/2010 at 3:24 pm #1926210Here is a log from one of the archived caches,
April 13 by NGA (2 found)
Regretfully, we had to agree to archive these caches due to the “increased traffic and undue attention to the area”.
This cache had 65 found it logs
04/15/2010 at 12:19 pm #1926211This record didn’t pass the sniff test for me. It looks like all of the caches were placed a couple of days before the record was “broken”, and now all the caches are archived? Seems a little suspicious to me.
