Cache for Des Moines event

For the Des Moines geocaching event on June 1st, I offered that the WGA would donate a cache and send it to them ahead of time to be used during the hunt. The other day I bought a nice plastic tool box at Home Depot on sale for $4. It’s bright yellow, 15 x 8 x 7. I will paint it black or camo. I’m thinking of putting Wisconsin items in it, such as cheese-inspired items, cow items, Brewers, Packers, Bucks, UW, that sort of stuff. Gift certificates to Wisconsin events or attractions might also be good items. If anyone else would like to contribute items to this cache, let me know what you might contribute, and plan to get the items to me by May 18. If we have lots of stuff from all over Wisconsin, we could donate more than one cache. If you’re going to attend the campout at Governor Dodge, you could give items to me there. Otherwise I can make arrangements with you to get them somehow, either by mail or in person.

I want to highlight my previous message one more time, because I received no response. I’m looking for items to include in a WGA-sponsored cache that will be sent to Des Moines for their geocaching event on June 1st. Wisconsin-themed items would be great: cheese-related (not actual cheese), cows, Brewers, Packers, anything that has to do with Wisconsin. If you’re going to be at the campout, bring the items to me then. If you’re not going to the campout, leave a note here and we’ll figure out how to get the items from you. Thanks!

We’ll get some item(s) to you at the campout… I noticed today that a rep from the GreatPlains group is coming to the campout and hope to take posession of the Wisconsin cache while there.

I will bring a couple really nice, new Packer soft-side coolers for the Iowa cache. They may be a bit too large to actually go into the cache, but I’ll supply a couple of our Geocaching “business” cards and whoever trades/chooses the card can redeem for the coolers when they return to the event headquarters.

I’ve got a couple new “cheese” type foam can coolers I can bring along to the campout for the cache Ken. I’ll try to dig up some other Wisconsin items (Harley-Davidson stuff?) as well.

Is this cache only going to be out during the event, or is it something they intend on leaving out permanently?

The Searchers will be bringing something for the Des Moines cache. Don’t know what it will be yet. Have to find just the right item.
