    Hello,

Planning is progressing for the Sept 15 Picnic, at Wildcat Mountain State Park.

We are looking for volunteers to help hide temporary caches for the Picnic. Cache hiding day will be a couple weeks before the event. The WGA will provide the temp containers, stamps, and handouts. Volunteers provide their creative cache ideas, and unique containers if you so desire.

The format of cache hiding day is usually as follows:
    – Volunteers meet at the determined date/time/location.
    – You’ll receive maps and informational materials, and pages to record your cache’s information on.
    – WGA has a nice selection of temp cache containers with stamps. Grab the ones you plan to use.
    – Everyone picks a portion of the park where they will focus their hides. This helps spread everyone out.
    – Caches may be hidden that day, or at minimum, the coordinates need to be recorded. Some people with special containers will select the location, but not put the cache out until the day of the picnic.
    – Cache information will be turned back into the cache coordinator who will record the cache info into the computer. The Laptop will help identify any problems before we go to press with the handouts.
    – Stay as long as you want.
    – Have fun!

We would love to have between 6 – 10 people helping hide caches. Each person hides around 5 or 6 temp caches. Some hide more, some hide less.

Bring your creative cache ideas. I always say our events should be a showcase of creative cache ideas.

We haven’t pinned down the cache hiding date yet, but if you are interested, please post your availablity in this thread. We would love to see a strong showing of volunteers from the West Central part of the State.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

    Hi all,

The temp hiding time and date has been set for a start time as 0900, August 25. If you are free that day, please consider joining us!!!!

For that date, we have Tie coordinating the hides and bringing maps and organizing the hide. Fu, Hotdogs and myself will be assisting. Many hands make light work, so it would be nice to get another 4 or 5 people to volunteer to assist.

We will meet at the park shelter at Wildcat, which is at N43 42.192 W90 34.795. If the shelter is in use, I will post an alternate location.

I’m available to hide some temps!! I also need to discuss a change in the WGA’s policy for who qualifies as a WGA Member and who is a WGA Friend.

How many board members will be present? I need to know how many six packs of Linnie’s Red to bring.

I don’t think we can let lagrac in yet. He’s still shopping in MN for 6 packs of Linnie’s, when everyone in WI knows the board goes through cases of Leinie’s. Best fresh from the Lodge! Ya jus’ gotta develop an appreciation for the flavor of WI river water, then smile as you slam it and ask for another! There are no beer sippers on this board!

Seeing as how it is in our neck of the woods. We would love to help hide temps, but we are going to be out of town for a wedding that weekend. We could help set things up. Let us know if you need help.
