It reads 94, it went to 95.

Everything laid out ready to go at 6:30am.

Organizer, Jeff of Geopink

Bill of FlushingGrouse got the farthest caching area.
We thought his wife would like a last picture
But the caching gods were generous and he returned unharmed.

Paperwork, Al and Peter of Defender_148, Bill and Ms Russell_53040

Today, and please dear God, for today only, caching was clothing optional.Final moments of paperwork and data entry.
This one includes Dan of ‘really I’m not lost’ (far right)
A successful, fun day despite the heat.
About 37 caches were placed.
Congratulations Jeff.
It should be a great picnic.[This message has been edited by jthorson (edited 07-24-2005).]
07/25/2005 at 2:54 am #1758996thanks to all that helped. I know I enjoyed hiding a few. I didn’t realize how hot I was till I got home to air conditioning. bugs weren’t bad with a preemptive spraying before heading out. but it was HOT!! and HUMID!!
07/25/2005 at 5:28 am #1758997I can imagine how extremely and hot it must have been in the woods. I really want to thank those who helped hide the temp caches !!!!!! Thanks for making the sacrifice
PS, how were the bugs?
07/25/2005 at 5:44 am #1758998Not too bad for bugs.. At least for today..
I lightly sprayed up before heading out and don’t remember being bothered once…
I guess the bugs stayed out of the heat today… No ticks either..
Cool
However, it should be known that there is no shortage of PI in this park.. It’s pretty much everywhere.. I know I made an attempt to make the caches I hid PI free but, that’s never 100%. I believe the other hiders were doing the same….

07/25/2005 at 1:41 pm #1758999Damn, those Private Investigators are everywhere. Oh well, maybe by the time of the picnic the poison ivy will drive them away from Greenbush.
07/25/2005 at 11:16 pm #1759000Thanks to all who helped – it sounds like you found success. May all of your geocaches be found! And, thanks to our Historian, Jeff, for the pictures.
07/26/2005 at 11:43 am #1759001Heeding Bill’s (FlushingGrouse’s) warning of PI (Poison Ivy) I was doing some research on the topic.
Imagine my shock when I read this as the first line of a web page on PI:
Poison ivy is a member of the Cachew Family.07/26/2005 at 3:10 pm #1759002quote:

I knew there was a reason I scratched so much when I was around him! I thought it was the skeeters! Good thing Heidi & Wicket are immune!
08/02/2005 at 4:08 am #1759003Hot is an understatement. Just glad to be part of it. It was fun. Did manage to take a wrong turn which I do blame on being hot that day. Oh and I did get alittle lost but I do blame that also on it being really hot. Now come on you really think I would get lost. I have a GPSR with me.lol Well looking forward to the event.
08/10/2005 at 11:51 pm #1759004Hey – I’ve done a little homework on that PI stuff. I found an excellent little tutorial for those who haven’t had personal experience with poison ivy.
http://www.cattail.nu/ivy/ivy_index.html08/11/2005 at 3:46 am #1759005You can ask Professor about his “upclose and personal” experience with Poision ivy…he ended up getting two steroid shots to get rid of it. Surprisingly, the kids and I stayed poision ivy free. Tami
08/11/2005 at 3:47 am #1759006Thanks, cekcacher! (and Welcome to the WGA Message Boards.)
The Board will also have a table with some information and live examples of Poison Ivy at the park. We certainly don’t want to let the PI ruin anyones day.
