I think in this case a “Verify Present” would be more appropriate for the “Cache Rescue” type. The finder would get the points for the cache rescue, but the container would stay in place after it’s found (or be moved slightly to get it back in play).
That’s what I was thinking of doing if I submitted a cache rescue. If I had found it myself the other day, I was going to place the container somewhere else and redo the cache page. If I archived it, it was either let it be, or someone else could find it and do what they wanted with it. Right now the cache is in limbo while we mull over things.
Without the incentive of any cache rescue points and without any request on our part, jar42 took it upon himself to see if he could find this cache that he had previously found. And he did! And after only ten minutes or so of searching!
He moved the container to a better spot, sent us the coords and a description of the new hide, and after checking things out ourselves in the near future (a FTF on our own cache! 😉 ), we will be getting the cache up and running again.
Now there’s a good caching friend, and one who enjoys the game enough to help others when help is needed. Thanks, Jim! So nice to have you in our caching neighborhood! 😀
That’s cool and worthy of some praise.
Well done jar42!
