As promised a little update on caches in Holland..
Boy are they HARD compared to most Wisconsin caches I have done!! But that also makes them a lot of fun to do. Most of the caches overhere are long multi-caches (at least 5-6-7 mile walks). Some of them you’ll need photo’s to figure out the next waypoint (really fun, but also a lot of room for misktakes), others you’ll need to get information of streetsigns, trees and all that. And that is not the tricky part!!! The real tricky part is really finding the cache in the end. The fact that you’ll have the right coords doesn’t really mean you’ll find it. Especially not if you’re used to American caches like I am. Let me tell you… if you ever go to Holland to find a cache.. the FIRST place you look is… IN the ground!! Funny huh? Most of the caches I have found here are more or less burried. They mark it woth either a dead branch on it of a tree-stump. BUT.. what if some dog took the branch? Good luck finding the cache!
All in all though, it’s good caching here. Long walks are great, the creativity the owners of the cache put into it, is actually really inspiring. But still.. I am looking forward to finding some nice (snowy??) caches in good ol’ Wisconsin around Christmas time!
Hope to see everybody some time again and happy hunting!!
