I haven’t been caching much since the flooding, and so I KNOW that I was at 498 caches after this past weekend. Now, I’m at 496, so some owner somewhere must have denied a couple of my finds.

I checked some of the ones I just did – and everything seems ok, so..

Can anyone tell me how to figure out which logs of mine have been removed from geocaching.com?

I know I’ve gotten an e-mail when I had a log deleted. It wasn’t from the owner either

Yep, I’m pretty sure you get an automated message from GC when one of your finds is deleted.

thanks…. maybe I’m just a bit nuts, and am remembering the numbers incorrectly.

Face it. You are a cacher. That alone makes you nuts. What noncacher chases tupperware using government satellites?

actually, I am still working on the (perhaps) flawed assumption that I am normal, and that everyone else is a bit touched. Geocaching is a wonderful sport – What other sport allows you to spend hours upon hours in mosquito infested swamps for the ultimate goal of signing your name on a little damp piece of paper inside a magnetic key holder????? Talk about Satisfaction!!! It doesn’t GET any better than that.

One of the times I wondered about my geo-sanity was when I did my first cache in Texas. I was on my way from the airport to my hotel, and stopped off in a field and was looking and looking – then it dawned on me that I wasn’t in SE Wisconsin anymore, and I really knew nothing about the types of vermin in the area I was in – such as poisonous snakes. I got pretty nervous while I was out there all alone, poking my hand in crevaces in the rocks and the wierd foliage – with noone knowing where I was….. But i found the cache anyway – it was in good shape, and contained the necessary tools to do a nearby earthcache, so can you blame me???
