    Disclaimer:
This is NOT a question to bring up any territorial divisiveness, but rather one that is intended to highlight the diversity that can be found geocaching throughout the great state of Wisconsin.

    ****************************

    For the candidates:

Some cachers drive all over the state to go caching or to work on challenges, some cachers often make certain spots their caching destinations, and some cachers find plenty of caches to keep them busy close to home (or any combination thereof).

*** What part(s) of Wisconsin (general or specific) have you cached in that you would like to return to for more caching or just to visit?

*** What part(s) of Wisconsin (general or specific) have you not yet cached in but would like to someday?

I’ve been a resident of WI for 40 years, since birth, and I’ve traveled pretty much the entire state, but never been to the LaCrosse area. That is my next stop on the caching tour. I already have a few must do caches for the trip. Now I just need to get there.

I’d say Door County, and Wisconsin Dells have been my favorite caching areas, and I definitely plan to do more caching in both spots. For me, caching is about the destination mostly. These areas have brought me to some spectacular places I never would have seen if there hadn’t been a cache there to guide me.

I would say that the area I would love to return to the most would be Door County. I loved the caching we did up there, and look forward to returning sometime this coming summer.

This question is a little harder for me, but I would have to say the North West part of the state is an area that I would love to cache in and haven’t been able to do so yet.

We try to each spring make a trip to door county, would like to get to the West Central and South Western part again

*** What part(s) of Wisconsin (general or specific) have you not yet cached in but would like to someday?

Having completed the Delorme Challenge and the county challenge, we have technically cached the entire state, but we have many counties and pages with only one find, Might have to start the Delorme part 2 and visit some of the areas again.

I have cached in and around Milwaukee and surrounding areas. But I have cached in places near Merric State Park and Mirrior Lake State Park.
I think both areas were wonderful I would love to caching in both areas again and soon lol.

One area we have not cached in yet is norther wisconsin. My wife and I are both planning on doing some day trips if not overnighters this coming summer to that area to do some caching. Also we would like to go to the south western part of the state to do some caching those are both areas we have not yet cached.

Since my agency provides services in 18 counties throughout Western Wisconsin I travel in that area quite a bit. I live in South Central Wisconsin and frequently cache in Southeast Wisconsin as well. I have a cabin in Northeast Wisconsin and very much enjoy the caches in that area.

There are two areas I have yet to visit in this fine state for caching and that is far Northern Wisconsin and Door County.

I have cached quite a bit in pretty much all parts of Wisconsin. Today, I was down in the SW corner of the state and in Dubuque. About the only county that I have not cached quite a bit in is Ozaukee county, so that is on my wish list for a trip this summer.

My favorite place to cache is anywhere where I get to see something that I have not seen before.

I too have completed the county challenge, with my primary area being Dane, Rock, and other adjoining counties. I also consider north of HWY 8 to be my other territory, and love caching in the northwoods.

The one area (actually two) I wish I had more time to cache in would be in the LaCrosse and Hudson areas. There’s a great bit of scenery throughout the areas, and they both provide a good mix of caches.

Geocaching for me has been more about the people and places. In looking at the areas of the state that I have been, I was pretty surprised to see that although I may not have reached every border, I have geocached in just about every region at one time or another. Exactly where I go geocaching really has depended upon several factors – event in the area, how much time I may have (day trip or weekend), friends I can cache with, gas prices, etc.

I had thought that I had not been to Door County but then realized I did a day trip to help with a Geo 101 class in that area. The one area that I might have skipped over but now have a family invite to spend time at my brothers cabin is at Lake Couderay area of Hayward.
