We just bought two mountian bikes and plan on geocaching with them soon.
05/02/2008 at 6:05 pm #1888550A few years ago I placed a 13-part multi-cache called OIT Trailside (GC8CC3) along the Ozaukee Interurban Trail to encourage cycling & geocaching. Unfortunately, it was too difficult to maintain all the waypoints so I archived it. There are now several caches along that trail. It’s a great place for a leisurely family ride, or even a work-out ride if you go early in the morning or on a day when there’s not as much pedestrian and bike traffic.
Here’s a fast-motion video I shot a couple of weeks ago. I enter the Ozaukee Interurban Trail at about the 1:00 mark in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbWMt9VieL4
05/02/2008 at 6:49 pm #1888551We have two Timberlin Trail Bikes. Mine has a Garmin GPSR mount on the handlebars. We have biked for years before we started geocaching. We did a few caching bike rides last year. We want to hit the Ozaukee Interurban Trail soon. We have a camping trip to Hartman Creek scheduled for the end of June with OPPS5 and will be spending a day on the Tomorrow River Trail which has a series of caches.
05/02/2008 at 8:16 pm #1888552Both of our bikes are Timberlines… hence where we got our name from. Both our bikes have mounts for our receivers which we use as often as we can. We put a cache out in the middle of the Three Eagles Trail.
TE05/02/2008 at 11:46 pm #1888553I have done some caches on bike. As long as they are not every 528ft and I am constantly on and off and on and off and… well you get it LOL
I did start a couple of Hike & Bike caches on the trail bookmarks and listed them here, on the WGA Bookmark lists. As I find more trails with a fair amount on them, I hope to be creating more.
I drive a Univega multi-terrain touring bike. Nice mid-width tire, upright handlbars and a fairly comfy seat….though on our 48 mile ride last yr, my butt was still feeling it. LOL I have a bracket for my older Magellan SporTrak Pro, but need one for my newer Megallen eXplorist.

05/05/2008 at 1:27 am #1888555The red tires are a neat touch! We’re looking forward to hitting that trail sometime soon, too. Found a couple that have been there for some time when we were chasing down the zuma miles.

Thanks. I love this bike soooo much it’s 13 years old now but I wouldn’t replace it for anything. The trail was a blast….Here is a pic of a small water crossing I had to do:
