OK, you asked for it. The one phobia I have is claustrophobia. I’ll do anything to avoid getting into a crowded elevator! Fortunately, this doesn’t come up often while geocaching. I know caves could become an issue, but I actually like them as long as I have a light source and there’s no chance of me getting stuck or lost in it. And there’s no place for monsters or murderers to hide in it. And there can be no chance of flooding either. Then I’m just fine with it!

09/15/2005 at 7:27 pm #1759615Interesting……..
My biggest caching phobia is other people. This includes event caches. Having been in the military for a number of years and then jumping into management left me lacking in the art of general conversation. I sometimes find myself quite stressed when I am heading into a group.
One of the reasons I go- it’s good practice.

An outside-of-caching phobia of mine is that others will learn how much useless knowledge I actually have inside my head…..
Now if we want to talk obsessive-compulsive behaviors, I could go on for quite a while

There are no shortcuts to any place worth going09/15/2005 at 9:26 pm #1759617Gram had a bad reaction to a bee sting this summer (while I was up north with the canoe). Never had a problem before. Now we carry epi pens and are pretty careful.
I DO NOT like snakes. Not a rational or irrational fear, I just do not like ’em.

Had started typing my comment before realizing I did not know how to spell it, so ……
09/16/2005 at 9:05 pm #1759619Well, I guess I will be the first.
Having mulled over this topic for some time, I can not think of a single personal phobia.
(Despite what Tami says about sticking one’s hand in a hole, uh uh! That’s not a phobia, that’s common sense! I will not do it.)
09/16/2005 at 9:22 pm #1759620Wimp! Bring a pair of latex gloves like Genius Loci had at the event.

09/17/2005 at 1:51 am #1759621It’s common sense …. to get someone else to stick his hand in!
What size latex glove do you take?
09/17/2005 at 2:34 am #1759622I worry the dogs will stumble upon a ground bee nest. I used to worry about reaching around in holes, but now I bring leather gloves. There’s not really much in WI that you need to be afraid of.
I DO really worry about the wolves in western states at night, when I’m alone in the mountains. They’ve taken down most of the wildlife, and are darn hungry when water is scarce.

BecHowever, there was nothing on the list about people who fear marriage. It’s gotta exist!
