😯 😯 😯 😮 Oh no! The camo duct tape that Fleet Farm in West Bend now sells – well, it suks! It does not stick like regular duct tape, is stiff, an odd bluish color and does not work. 😕 Help! Where does everybody else get theirs?
05/26/2009 at 12:45 pm #1908356Doesn’t that stuff suck?!
We get ours in Waupun, at Farm & Home Supply, located on west Main Street. I discussed the “bad stuff” with an employee in the Hunting & Sports area. Showed him the difference between the 2. He still orders some of the “bad stuff”, but doesn’t recommend it.
Bit of a drive from WB area! I’m sure there are other suppliers closer.
Good Luck!
05/26/2009 at 6:29 pm #1908357🙄 I wonder if the cache bash planners used it all… will have to ask them – ha! 😆
I wonder if anyone has seen any at Cabelas? I have a cache I need to put out so somebody? Anybody? Got any other ideas????
Oh and by the way, since we gave FF such good business buying ammo cans for the bash, they are now almost 8 bucks each – ouch! Anybody know a cheaper place for that also??
05/26/2009 at 6:35 pm #1908358I always get my camo duct tape at Menard’s. Fleet Farm just had the small ammo boxes on sale 2 weeks ago for $3 each. I think they would make a deal on large quantities. I offer less in many stores when buying in quantity and get a lower price about half of the time. In this economy most stores would rather have a sale at a lower price than have you go to a competitor.

05/27/2009 at 12:01 am #1908360Give up the duct tape,
Krylon Camoflage Ultra Flat Spray Paint, Its available in 4 colors Olive Drab, Brown, Khaki, and Black. The New stuff even has the fusion technology which means it sticks to plastic as well as metal very well, using 3 colors we painted over 30 caches last year, and had to buy two colors this year after painting 20 more have checked on the ones painted last year and its still holding up well.

I use the paint too and repaint all ammo boxes before I put them out. It works great on items that are impossible to tape. I use the tape mainly for miracle whip and peanut butter jars.
05/27/2009 at 3:21 pm #1908363Great ideas everybody, thank you. I will check for the paint next time I get dragged to Menards 🙄 ha! Of course, I missed the sale on ammo boxes so I ended up paying 7.88 each. Oh well. I guess I better start reading the FF add, if I can wrestle it away from MagOO! 😯
