Come to beautiful Kenosha County and spend some time with the Boy scouts.

    Camp Ohdakota GeoScouting Event
    MARCH 24, 2007 1PM-5PM

The Southeast Wisconsin Council is opening up the geocaches in Camp Ohdakota for this one-day event.

The purpose of the event is to introduce our Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts to Geocaching. There are currently four private caches in Camp Ohdakota and three public caches (2 of which are open as of the date of this event – be the first to find them)at Camp Ohdakota.

There will be a couple of additional area caches that will be open after this event – you’ll have first access to them as well.

You will be expected to take a group of Scouts with you on your searches…well, you’ll have to – THEY will have the coordinates for the caches!

Please bring your travels bugs and geocoins.

The Event starts at 1pm and will go until around 5pm.

I have created a bookmark list of the 50 closest permanent active caches within a 7 mile radius to the event site. The bookmark is named Caches near Camp OhDakota.
Within a 10 mile radius there is over a 100 permanent active caches. Why not make a day of it, grab some caches before Lunch stop and do some caches with the Scouts and grab some caches on the way home.

While in the area stop and grab some or all of the “Cache to Eagle series”. This is a 12 cache series that highlights the accomplishments of Eagle Scouts throughout the Southeast Wisconsin Council and also happens to be the lucky recipient of Cache of the Month for February 2007. You can find a bookmark for these caches under the name: Cache to Eagle: A Rogheff Series.

There is alot of great caches and great cache locations nearby so stop by the “Camp Ohdakota GeoScouting Event” and share in the excitement. I know the Boy Scouts will be excited to meet all the great Geocachers that reside in this great State and you get to pass on your knowledge and love of the sport to our Youth of today and Young men of tomorrow.
