OK so I’m a procrastinator…I have a vacation coming up in a few weeks and still haven’t gotten myself organized! I had to get past Geobash first before I could plan my next adventure. But….now I know where I want to go.
Could someone please give me a heads up on a couple of campgrounds in or very near Port Washington? We have two 10ish year old kids. I’d like a TENT campsite that is nicely kept (not in the deep woods or tall tall grass). I’d prefer to overlook a lake or be within withing walking distance to one. Lake Michigan would be fine or a smaller lake / big pond (fishing would be nice but not a requirement).
We’d be camping on a Tuesday through Friday….
Thanks and sorry for buggin everyone again on this topic.
07/23/2007 at 2:14 pm #1877255I’m from the area … your best bet would Kohler-Andrea state park in Sheboygan … http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/parks/specific/ka/
It would be the closest campsites to Port Washington … plus it’s on Lake Mich. … the only trick would be if you can get a spot there with such short lead time … you should contact them. (I year or so from now there will be closer camping at Harrington Beach in Belgium, Wi … but that’s just starting to be constructed).
About equal distance (or maybe a tad closer) is Waubedona County Park … which is very basic (no bathrooms) … is very inland, but has great fishing on the Milw. River right outside your tent flaps … it’s a little know camping area and would likely have openings … but again nothing fancy, you pull off the paved road by a few feet, setup your tent and your pretty much on your own for everything else you need. http://www.co.ozaukee.wi.us/Parks/WaubedoniaCampsites.htm

I’m hoping that by camping during the week my odds are a bit better…I know I should have gotten my plans firmed up sooner…
If you think of any other sites (even privately owned) please let me know I’ll check with Kohler-Andrea tonite and see whats available….right now it looks like I can still get some sites for the days I need though….Thanks for your help……
*EDIT* OK I’m squared away. Thanks and look for me to find a few of your caches in a bit…now where’s the final on that puzzle cache of yours?

Glad I could help out.
Finals on my puzzles … depends on which one you mean … and you must do them! 😈
“Harrington: Risen to Power” … a short walk, not out of your way at all.
“Looking Back in Time” … a short drive, less than 10 min.07/23/2007 at 5:55 pm #1877258@EnergySaver wrote:
