We have events spread throughout the entire state. Annually, we have about 5 events that we attend/host. How many will you be able to attend, and what area of the state are you from?

01/24/2018 at 7:17 am #2057592Being a board member, you are expected to attend at least 75% of the WGA-hosted events. I always try my best to attend each one and if I wasn’t able to (or wouldn’t be able to) I would help with the other aspects it takes to bring the event to fruition behind the scenes.
I reside in the Oshkosh area.
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

01/24/2018 at 5:44 pm #2057596During the past 2 years as a BOD member I attended and helped with the events. Prior to being a BOD member I still attended most of the events so I don’t see any problem with attending events, no matter what part of the state they are in. I am from West Central Wisconsin.

01/24/2018 at 6:37 pm #2057601Well, as some of you know, I have 4 children that are busy with activities much of the year. Winter into early spring is usually the busiest with such activities. In 2017, I made it a point to attend events when I could and that is my intention going forward.
01/24/2018 at 9:54 pm #2057604I live in Auburndale, very near the geographical center of the state, and very near the WGA Geoart. In the past my attendance at WGA events has been limited by my involvement with Scouts. Since I have stepped back from almost all of my scouting commitments, I am much more available for WGA events. I will most likely attend all or most WGA events this year, whether elected or not.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
01/25/2018 at 10:22 am #2057611Most of the events seem to be an annual date and as long as I have advance notice I should be able to attend the 75% required. There is incentive by a fellow geocacher to attend events that are near breweries as well. I believe the BOD knows in advance when the events will be scheduled and where, therefore that should help my planning.
