Why do you want to run for the Board of Directors and why have you decided to run at this time?
Hi jacquendoncody, since stepping back from the Boy Scout scoutmaster role I held for 10+ years I have a lot more time on my hands, along with my 2 kids also out of the house, so I felt that it was the perfect time to give back to the hobby I have the most passion for.
Having served on the WGA board in the past I know how much work it is. Everyone worked very hard and there was a great sense of comradery. I look forward to serving alongside such dedicated and passionate people.
I have been interested in being on the WGA BOD for the last year or two; however, I didn’t think I’d ever get the two nominations required to run for the board. I was surprised that people thought I was deserving of the nominations. I decided to accept the nominations and run for the board because I am looking to reduce my work obligations and spend my time meeting more people across the state in this hobby that I love.
I have always felt that the 1st 6 months of any job/volunteer opportunity, you are busy trying to figure things out, find out from whom to ask questions, and learn the details. In the second 6 months, you know who to ask, a lot of the background, and you are starting to make some moves that matter. Then, you spend the 2nd year making it your own. I feel like I’ve gotten a good forward motion going and would like to carry on.

I had been thinking about running for the board for a few years. This year it was placed in my plate. I got and unexpected email stating I was nominated for a position on the board. I graciously accepted. I have no clue Exactly what I am getting myself into but will do my best to serve the group (WGA).
