Just a quick update on canoes at the WGA picnic. Members who have canoes or kayaks are encouraged to bring them, as there are 8 nearby island caches to find. Brunet Island has several beautiful sloughs that will make for fun paddling.
However, the Board has agreed to rent the following, and make it available to all WGA members at the Picnic:
3 canoes,
1 double kayak,
1 single kayak
You may check these items out at the picnic shelter, starting at 8:00am. To use the watercraft, all users must be 18 years old and must use PFDs.
There will be no charge for use of the canoes or kayaks, though donations will be accepted.

I am so excited about this! I’ve been trying to figure out how to get a canoe up there because I’d really like to do those island caches. Thanks! Will you be providing the life jackets or do we need to bring our own?
