Hi!
I’m carda1 and I’m running for a position on the WGA board. Here’s a little information about me.
First off, I would like to say thanks for the nomination. I am very honored. I have seen what the board members have done throughout the years and feel it is time I give back. At this time in my life I no longer have anything holding me back, so I feel this would be a good time to make a commitment.
I have enjoyed this crazy game since 2017 when I retired. My brother, Buckskin60, kept bugging me to go caching with him and I finally gave in. Of course I was immediately hooked and have since introduced it to many family and friends (including my husband, DaSeadogs). I love capturing our adventures and sharing them on Facebook. I have also found that I really enjoy making creative caches to hide. Check out my caches in Hoffman Hills by Colfax, WI as an example. I enjoy meeting people and feel that working with the WGA will give me lots of opportunities to do that.
We are planning some exciting geocaching trips this year. We are headed to Bamarama in February for the first time. Hoping to get to Gilby, ND in May to take on those gadget caches. We heard such good things about Midwest Geobash that we decided to head there in July.I feel these trips will give me a great chance to promote the WGA.
Locally, we will be attending West Bend Cash Bash again this year in August. Plus we are planning on hitting all the great WGA events, like the chilli feed, picnic and camp out. Looks like we have a busy year ahead!
Hopefully, I’ll run into many of you at events or on the trail.
